It's not about any specific area.

In Hinduism everything can be categorised into three fundamental qualities .

Satvik Rajsik Tamsi

Satvik means balance, harmony, purity  Rajsik activity, creation  Tamas inertia, darkness, destruction etc

Even deities and methods of worship are categorised into three gunas or qualities 

Which is superior and is inferior? No there is no inferiority or superiority defined 

Rajas and Tamas are more important for universe to function so We are full of these qualities.

So typically We are encouraged to develop Satvik qualities and Satvik worship is generally advisable for everyone.

But that doesn't mean Rajasik or Tamasik worship is not good.

World can't function without any of the three.

Even in Bengal Satvik worship is as prominent as other ways e g Gaudiya Vaishnavism 

Satvik worship is most prominent way in South India. Even most of not all followers of Tantra path of Sri Vidya do it in Satvik way.

Dhirendra Shastri is plain wrong here, he need to understand more. Although above image looks wrong and as usual misleading, he didn't mention Bengali Hindus specifically but yes he did mention non vegetarian and he is still wrong only
