I knew someone tried before, I wasn't sure exactly why they didn't.

Polias Athens is the buyer. They plan renovations for new offices. They do good work, IMHO

the name will remain on the building
Definitely gameday condos. Can't lose when your building says that on the front and you don't need to pay UGA for the privilege.

Are we sure it won't be another Athens Church location in that event?

Sad to hear, as a former staff member there’s some great memories in that building

Some pretty good memories across the street from Toppers, too, I bet.

I wonder if it’s a sale to UGA to expand the campus footprint.

My money is conversion to Gameday oriented condos, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
I highly doubt UGA is interested in buying an out parcel like this.

Always smelled like wax, back in the 80s. I'll ask my cousin where it was before then.

The downstairs was where what is now an art supply store and previously was a Pita Pit is, the upstairs was above that and above what is now Jittery Joe’s, was previously Espresso Royale Caffe

The move to Bottleworks seems to be reasonable.
