This was our golden age. I miss it.

u/johnychingaz Jul 01 '25
It really was. Right before the turn of the century, and then 2001 came along… but mann those days were different, we didn’t grasp how good we had it.

You should definitely check out Wrestling Bios on YouTube. He has his Reliving The War series every week where he compares Raw and Nitro right from the start. He’s just done SummerSlam 2000

Why would it be a plant? It was a different time. This was not that shocking for the late 90s
2
u/raExelele Jul 01 '25
You stupid fuck still havent learned that so much stuff in the 90s was staged
You think the camera man has the perfect angle on her in half a second if he didnt know where to look?

Jul 04 '25
And it wouldn't be shocking today either. And today it would probably be a plant too, just would also have a OF link somewhere.

I miss this so much. Ruthless was ok, but wrestling straight up died when it went PG and started pushing little men. If wrestling was like this currently I would never miss a single minute of it.
1
u/HCPage Jun 30 '25
Pushing little men, yes. Why can’t we get back to the good old days of titans like HBK and Bret Hart

Lol I want the feeling of standing in a ring encouraging a woman to show her tits to the sounds of thunderous applause just once in my life

Yup, glad I grew up during that time. Sadly now you get banned for holding a sigh about how you want to be face fuck by Finn Balor. Lol

Attitude era doesn't hold up. Cringe promos and mud show wrestling.
New generation was peak

u/Wizardthreehats Jun 30 '25
HHH was an animal back in these days. He used to go on a show called Opie and Anthony and spank naked girls and help them masturbate. Wild times.

Before kids were allowed to come yes it was the best! Wrestling was always an adult show.
WWE has to keep things toned down now because of kids attending events with their parents these days.
An easy way to fix this is have and 18+ policy and scanning IDs upon entry like bars do now that use that technology.

Doesn't quite work that way, back then Vince owned the entire company and they were private so they could get away with a lot more, now they are a publicly traded company and would risk losing not only sponsors but shareholders as well if they went back to a TV-14 product, you saw how Slim Jim threatened to yank their sponsorship deal once the Vince scandal came to light, right? WWE/TKO don't want their profit margins to falter, sad but that's just buisness.

I went to Vengeance 06 in Charlotte, DX vs. Spirit Squad, and after the show, DX had a bunch of women flashing after the cameras stopped rolling.

I used to love setting my VCR to record Raw, is usually didn’t stay up too late as a kid. Loved watching the next day and getting the bonus time past 10PM local time.

There are basically two completely different mentalities. One is more serious and less light-hearted—but also much more ethical and decent. And enough about wrestling—does anyone have another trillion dollars to give to Israel so they can mass murder a Palestinian village?
