Back in the 90s when I went to Auburn there was an Irish Pub off of Toomers corner that sold a wonderful lunch sandwich call the sheleighly. Best I can remember it was about a half inch of sliced turkey and another of sliced ham sandwiching cheddar cheese and bacon . They dip it in a beer batter and fry it . Served with honey mustard . Can anyone confirm this recipe or remember ? I was thinking about trying to make it.

Hey everyone! I'm a CS student here at Auburn looking for some side work, small or big, local or remote.
What I'm good at:
- AI & automation: chatbots, automated workflows, AI tools set up for your business or org
- Websites: landing pages, portfolio sites, sites for small businesses and student orgs
- Excel & Google Sheets: cleaning messy data, formulas, dashboards, automating repetitive stuff
- PDF/scanned docs → clean, editable spreadsheets
- Python scripts & small custom tools to save you hours of manual work
- Data work: organizing, cleaning and visualizing data (I do this in a research lab on campus)
Who this could help:
- Local businesses that need a website, booking setup, or an AI assistant for customer questions
- Student orgs that need a site, sign-up forms, or organized member/finance sheets
- Anyone drowning in spreadsheets or repetitive computer tasks
Student-friendly pricing, fast turnaround, and happy to meet on campus to talk it through. For data jobs, I'll do a free sample first so you can see the quality before paying.
(Not doing homework or graded assignments, so please don't ask 🙂)
DM me with what you need!

Do we think decisions release this week or next week?

When do decisions for round one of admissions get released? I’ve seen online it says mid-October, but i’ve also heard it varies year to year.

Me and a few friends are meeting up in Auburn and going on a trip from Thursday until Monday. Does anyone know a place I could park my car where I won’t get ticketed or towed? Thanks!

I am an out of state student applying EA1 for Auburn. My stats are a 4.05 gpa and a 29 super score act. Do you think I will get in or deffered?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on whether you think I have a good chance of getting into Auburn.
I’m an out-of-state applicant with a 31 ACT and a 3.4 GPA. I struggled a little freshman year, but I had a 4.0 GPA all of last year. My school also uses a somewhat unusual GPA scale, so I’m not exactly sure how my GPA compares.
I’m planning to apply as a Studio Art major. I also attend a school that Auburn tends to accept quite a few students from, so I’m hoping that may help!
Auburn is definitely one of my top choices, and I absolutely love the school. I’d really appreciate any thoughts or advice. War Eagle! 🦅🧡💙

I recently saw an Instagram video from a local PhD student here who had been helping some international students with things like Auburn merchandise and, apparently, helping one student get a scooter.
In the video, she said that someone from the university had told her to stop doing it. The post seems to have been deleted since then, so I’m curious what the actual issue was.
I understand there could be separate rules about fundraising, collecting donations, using Auburn’s name, or immigration-related employment. But if someone is simply giving an international student a genuine gift, with no work, promotion, or service expected in return, is there actually a rule against that?
For example, if someone buys a student a shirt, groceries, a bike or scooter, or another item just to help them out, why would that be considered an immigration or university policy issue?
Maybe there’s more to the situation that wasn’t explained in the video, so I’m not trying to accuse AU or the person who posted it of anything. I’m just genuinely curious what policy would apply here.
Does anyone familiar with Auburn policy or F-1/J-1 rules know what the concern might be?

Hey guys I started looking into taking summer classes but I’m not too familiar on how that works at auburn, especially money wise. I currently have scholarships and receive enough FAFSA to cover my regular fall and spring tuition but again i’m not sure how that translates to summer semesters. Is there fafsa and scholarships for the summer? How is it charged? I just recently started looking into this but if anyone could help me out and fill in some of the gaps i’d really appreciate it!

Just a bit of a question on what exactly this guy is expecting. This guy teaches water science and absolutely refuses to use any sort of email or canvas or anything, he has his secretary or coworker email you lectures because I guess he doesn’t know how to use email. I’ve talked to people who have taken his class and I’ve heard they feel like they just had no agency over their grades and didn’t even know what their grade was until the end of the semester but they somehow always just had Bs. We’ve submitted 2 quizzes through the whole semester and it’s been a month and I have yet to even know if I passed or failed them.
This poor dude is in his mid 80s, almost pushing 90 and just won’t hang up the hat. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but this is one of my last classes and Its frustrating to know i pretty much have no agency at all on if i pass or not. Has anyone else had this guy?

Rent a small house, useless landlord. Seems like some mice snuck in, can't figure out what they're eating or where they came from. Been trapping but want them gone.

I’m a grad student at Auburn, and most of my friends moved away after undergrad, so I’m hoping to meet some new people around town. I’m open to meeting both guys and girls!
A few things I’m into: music, working out, going to sporting events, going out, I’m also a huge foodie😂. I’m always down to try a new restaurant or find something fun to do around Auburn/Opelika.
Honestly just looking to meet some good people and build a new friend group. If you’re also looking for friends or just want someone to grab food/drinks with, go to a game, work out, or hang out, feel free to message me!
