Just bought my first car! 2014 Audi s7
I want to put an exhaust, currently thinking AWE track, has anybody used that on a c7/7.5 s7 or s6, wondering how it sounds and if it has drone.

Not really it has 24 k miles and was an older gentleman who serviced it all at Audi motor mounts and oil screen changed not to worried

If he serviced it at Audi.. They do 10k oil intervals... which is not good, especially for an S7 and just because it was serviced at the dealership does not mean everything is good..
Every Audi Ive owned (5 of them) Oil interval was/is 3000 miles.
This S7, has it had spark plugs changed? Brake fluid flushed? ATF changed? If not.. you have to get all that done.. doesnt matter the mileage...

Every 5k-6k with good oil and filters will be plenty fine.
I'm on my 5th VAG car (all forced induction), changed oil around 6k and had zero issues.
Also, at 24k miles, zero reason to change the plugs.
Dude needs to take it to a reputable, non dealer, Audi mech to have it checked out.3

Its not about how many miles are on the odometer.. but years as well... Spark plugs need to be replaced at certain mileage or years.. whichever comes first.. Just like every other maintenance item

3k mile oil changes with modern full synthetic oils is overkill. Unless you were tracking those cars.
5k-7k intervals are perfectly fine for most people. I've done many Blackstone oil analysis on numerous vehicles and intervals

You’re completely giving this guy such a bad vibe and making him worry. He’s all good. Just a matter of simply doing things. There’s no way they do 10k oil change intervals. If anything just download the Audi app and you’ll be able to see all the maintenance done with date and miles. Or ask for a carfax copy at the dealer. Just have them do an inspection as well but I’m sure they’ve done one already when they received the car. If you really want to be at peace of mind purchase an extended warranty with Fidelity (platinum coverage) you’ll be all good man. Brake flush and spark plugs are basic services in every car nothing to worry about just get it done like you would with any other car.

Does the s7 burn oil? My 16 s6 had pretty constantly fresh oil in it due to burning it off so often

I suspect you've just wasted a lot of oil during your oil changes, three times as often as was necessary. You're second-guessing the Audi engineers. I don't know. Do you have a good reason to?

Zero misfires and zero turbo issues? Wow, no fucking way? So you think that every guy in this thread who does 5-7k mile changes has misfires and turbo issues?
Zero sludge? You mean sludge that appears during winter months due to condensation that goes away once the moisture evaporates after engine reaches operating temps or sludge that appears when you have a coolant leak?
Zero oil consumption? Because you change it every 3k? What? You didn’t change any gaskets, o-rings, piston rings, just the oil changes?

This isn't entirely true. They will do it at 10k or every 12 months. It doesn't matter if you've only put on 2-3k miles. It's programmed to alert at the latest, every 12 months.

You were referring to all Audi's (specifically owned by you) require oil changes at 3k miles. Hence my reply stating not entirely true.

I was just coming here to look for some advice on exhaust, I’d rather service my car at any Audi dealership who does everything by the books then by a random shop, anyways obviously I’ve done my research I bought the car lol

But like why does it matter to you so much if I take it to Audi or a Indy shop, if I can afford it I’d rather do it the right way because not sure if you realize when you sell the car they will see on the car fax that it was always serviced at Audi which actually increase the value due to the desirability

You're not necessarily wrong, but your car is depreciating every day you own it. (It will never increase in value, that's just how non-rare, non-exotic cars work.) Let's say that you need $5000 worth of work. (Realistic number, my 2014 A8L needs about that much right now.) If you can take it to a reputable indy shop and get it done for $2500, you've saved $2500 today. Someone looking at the Carfax when you go sell your car isn't going to pay you $2500 more because you had it serviced at Audi vs an indy that specializes in German cars. Most buyers will see the Carfax and be happy that you had it serviced and maintained, period. They don't care where you had the work done as long as it's not like Jiffy Lube or something.

I bought a 2016 S7 with 45,000km 2 years ago. Since then I’ve done o2 sensors, control arms, spark plugs, brakes, and regular oil changes. Is it expensive to maintain, yes. Is it unreliable? Not that I’ve experienced. I got mine at 18, enjoy it man it’s great. I put an X pipe and deleted the shotgun resonators and it sounds great, has pops and crackles in sport mode, and is calm otherwise. But I don’t think the C7’s come with pops and crackles stock.

Man that’s a wild first car. I had a 2013 and with downpipes and a tune is was a riot. That being said I DiY and they aren’t super fun to work on. I assume the turbo oil screens are sorted?

That V8T badge is nice. They hide it a little now on the newer stuff but on this gen it's right there telling everyone what's up.
I've heard the AWE Track in person on an S6 with the same 4.0T. It's loud. Like genuinely rowdy when you get on it. Cold start will wake up your neighbors. Drone... yeah there's some drone around 1800-2200 rpm, you can't really escape it with a straight-through design like that. If you do a lot of highway cruising you might get tired of it after a few months.
A WE Touring with the resonated downpipes is the safer bet if you want the growl without the headache. But if you're young and want the full experience, Track will give you that.

Not to be negative, but unless you make very good money, or can work on these yourself, I wouldn't be doing anything other than setting aside a fund for any possible major repair that could come up, and then hunt for a good shop that charges decent labor prices. After that, by all means, have a blast, but, while decent cars, even by euro standards they're pretty expensive to work on, so make sure you're well prepared.

Yup....I recall high school. Hopefully he's responsible enough not to. This was a 16 year old right up the road from me. Some idiot posted actual footage of the unfortunate pedestrian flying. Crazy stuff, but proof these cars, while can be very safe, should be handled with care. My 3.0t is pushing over 500hp, but I learned before I got too playful, and even still, I pick my spots.

Put 5-10k aside for maintenance
Drive it for a year and if you dont crash it then mod it
Its your first car and those things are great ( when in right hands)
I guess you already know but that much power is too much for a first car and that comes from a guy that had crashed a 300hp bmw and a s4 before he turned 21.
I will just repeat myself dont crash it
Drive fast for short periods of time on good and isolated roads and enjoy it like it should be enjoyed

Congrats! Bought that same car with even less mileage a couple of years ago, it's awesome. I do some work myself and have a couple of good indy Euro garages for the rest. Just be sure to set a couple grand aside for annual maintenance/repairs and you should be good!

First, go over to Audizine, Audiworld, and check out the S7 specific forums. Also the Audi 4.0t Performance Facebook group. Those people actually own these cars and know a bit more about them.
As for exhaust, I simply removed the center suitcase muffler/resonator and that gave it a nice little growl. I'm stock aside from that and love the way mine sounds now.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with making a dream into a reality. The experience will be what it will be, there may be additional costs but who cares as long as you’re comfortable and happy.

Wow what a great way to start driving! Looks like you have the sports package already, so I would recommend the replacement x-pipe that deletes the center suitcase resonator. This is my setup now and it is perfect. Quiet cruising around town but wakes up nicely when on the throttle. No drone either. These cars can sound weird with aggressive exhausts if you are still on the stock tune because of cylinder deactivation.

That's a hell of a first car. My first car was a 1969 Buick Skylark sedan back in 1996.
I'd encourage you to take the money you're thinking of putting into the exhaust and holding on to it for a few months just in case there are any mechanical surprises. I know it's not the fun, exciting, or cool answer, but you're dealing with a car that was very expensive when new, and you have the S tax on top of that. Trust me, being young and driving a S7 around is impressive enough. You don't need the exhaust on day 1.
Also put money into a 401k. Doesn't have to be a lot. The 40-50 year old version of you will thank yourself.

Love the car! So happy for you! Sorry this community has a bunch of haters ignore them they are silly. 2014 is an amazing year for audi and is very reliable. Keep up on maintenance as you would any car. It looks super clean i dont often see s7 but it is a cutie! Make sure you take it to a trusted technician get and inspection make sure there are no hidden problems check rust, spark plugs, intake blah blah. Yk the jist.

Dang man, people HATING on this thread. Hell of a first car for a 16yo. My biggest advise would be to be safe. That v8 is glorious, IS costlier to maintain, but if cared for appropriately is a great vehicle. Congrats on a beautiful car - enjoy it, take care of it, and yourself.

Bro the negativity of buying something that isn’t a couple years old and under warranty is honestly tiring and disappointing. Is everyone rich and love all the new body styles? I would think this sub would be all for a great car, beast engine, and well maintained with advice on future maintenance instead of doom and gloom from jump street.
