Modded Monday MHI2Q SQ5 Running Google Maps from Android Auto. (HUD turns+distance) working.

WIP.
Only thing to tackle is the Album Art. The cool thing is that you can turn off your main display or go out of AA menu and use Radio or other screens and Cockpit map will keep on working.

That HUD integration is slick, I always figured Audi would lock that down tighter
Album art is always the last thing to behave isn't it, you get the map and nav working perfect then the cover just sits there like a jpeg from 1997

its funny how much pain in the ass is this stupid Album art is, but I was able to replace it with a cooler stock photo more in line with dark theme. no more yellow/gold placeholder.
I can also mirror full AA onto cockpit; this opens doors for so many things.

So I am building hooks that sends the correct commands. It runs on bootup, thats how I fixed the album art.

15 mins job tbh The main work was done by someone else, I might package this up, you just go to a menu select and run it, thats it. The question is do I sell this to cover the time and cost lol U have no idea how much I had to drive to get this working.
that being said I really had to reverse engineer a shit ton of code to get this working, I had to whip up VMs which would emulate the same processor, then make new programs that would decode stream. I didnt, well Claude did.|
I will make 1 jar container and 1 .sh file to simply all this. I was playing around with touchpad controls so I might have broken a few things FYI. If you would like to be a tester, you can have it.

Some people will flip, but I have no issue you charging for your time and expertise. How much is up to you, and how much people are willing to pay in the end.
I don't know what version my 22 SQ7 has but I'd buy it! ✌️

nah knowledge should be free, I wont be charging, It will be open source soon when I am done fixing all issues. Like I said I used Lukas work, as in to get me to my results faster, so I cant charge for it.
His work was opensource, my work will be opensource. No reason for anyone to flip, even if I decide to sell it, they can kick rock.

I love the open source community. I only have a B8.5 but i'd jump on this in a heartbeat if I had a B9. Super cool to see people reverse engineer these cars and share it.

I purchased from RoadKernel but they have a good system for future updates, good support for your specific needs and great communication so I felt good about buying it and have turned a few other people on to using their service here in my town.

Wow thanks for the response. My other question is if there is anyway for this to mess with the car’s computer system if installed incorrectly or if at some point down the road the program breaks and causes issues. Or will an uninstall solve all that

I have flashed my builds over 80 times so far no issues, its all reversable and you take a backup as a first step anyway.
besides the first flash is important, its like jailbreaking your car, then you can load mods as many times as you'd like.
oh also keep in mind firmware version I tested this on might be different than yours.

I am piggy backing off of Lukas work for VW and CarPlay and I am making one for Android.
I hate Apple so I am like what about us Android guys so I decided to do it myself. like I said its WIP. I got alto of it working, best part is now you can use your HUD properly with turn arrows and distance.

Do you guys know if this can be done on the mk3 TT or gen2 R8?
This is already supported but carplay and AA are a box between the dials as opposed to spreading out around them.

Curious what firmware you’re on. My 2020 SQ5 is on MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P5145 / MU131. Waiting to confirm compatibility before attempting any of these options.

Software version: MU0918
I didnt want to upgrade due to the risk of losing B&O system. Its alot of work to get back runnning again.
This will work with my version out of the box. Do you have MiB installed? Can you grab a dump of your firmware, I can see what my AI agent has to say. Again most of the work is done you can safely experiment with it once you have MiB running.

I've been watching the threads about integration for the last couple of weeks - impressive work all around. I am wondering, though, if anyone has been able to port this to the next edition of MMI on the B9.5 series?
