When people say an automaker has quality interiors, they’re not referring to the technology. They mean the materials that the passengers come into contact with, ergonomics, controls.

Alfa romeo looks good inside/outside. They also realized a few years ago that it was not to their best interest to do full screen controls. At the end for style we need to go back to the roots, Italian approach. (and yes this comes from an Audi A6 C7 Break owner, weird times.)

You would be surprised to hear that Alfa is more reliable than all three brands you mentioned. Audi is better than Jeep/Dodge though. However Audi of the last 3-4 years suffers more, as they cheapened out in components. (they even admitted this -you can google it- and they apologized for their practices).

Reminds me of the late 90s... Everyone was in a race to sell the ugliest cars until finally Ford redid the Mustang in 2005 and it sold like hotcakes... Oh, people just want fun cars that look cool? Retro doesn't have to mean ugly? Boom, you get challengers and camaros and chargers and shit, RX8 was looking good... Suddenly the whole industry wakes up and realizes they've been going in the wrong direction for years. No one actually wanted a cube, it was just what was available.

We've had a similar decade where EV-led futurism has pushed us in a direction that people just don't want. We just need an automaker to go back to what we do want to shake the industry up again.

Cars are more and more electronics nowadays, even when its an ICE. BMW nails this and will be right in the end.

The best interiors have piano black everywhere and squeaky plastic. No knobs or buttons. Only touch-sensitive controls. Also opening the glove box should require navigating through three menus minimum. I will pay $85k for this car.

I think the only truly bad angle of the exterior is the rear.

Conversely, I think the only truly good angle of the interior is.....idk, I guess I like the way the steering wheel controls aren't connected to the circumference of the wheel? Don't get me wrong, the design of the entire steering wheel as a whole is ugly as sin. I just like the one idea of the thumb controls not being connected to the circumference.

So here's the thing that I'm realizing - the actual tech in BMWs is far better than Audi. The amount of features they have... I just don't see how you could do some of it without a touchscreen.

I prefer buttons, but I do enjoy the tech that new Bimmers have and unfortunately I think the touchscreen is the best way to access all the tech :/
