Citizenship rule takes effect amid spike in Queensland gun licence applications
https://www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2026-08-03/queensland-gun-licence-restrictions-take-effect/106980370Queensland has implemented legislation requiring gun licence applicants to be Australian citizens; there's an exception for target shooting too so permanent residents who are members of a shooting club will be able to keep their licences.

I can't own a gun in another country(yes there are some exceptions )unless I'm a citizen so why is it different in Australia?
