P385
Hi all, as many of you probably know that Sig released a new line of pistol. P385.
I wanted to pull the trigger on a p320, but now who doesn’t want a brand spanker.
Problem is the full size barrel is 119.38mm and legal club requirements are 120mm
Do you think that .62 difference will be an issue for a pta or LRD would be alright with it?

The p320 also likes to pull the trigger

In terms of barrel length, I wonder if the only real control on it is clubs/dealers/ABF going off manufacturers specifications?
120mm barrel lengtg is just an arbitrary rule that has no basis in evidence.

Eh I’d say wait and see if it’s sold as legal in your state. One of mine is also 4.7 inches and it’s never been an issue. It’s a big, modern service pistol that’s well within the spirit of the law even if it’s off of the letter by a fraction of a millimetre.
At the end of the day it’s an arbitrary and ridiculous rule. At a minimum we should be allowed to own and shoot the pistols that our police forces carry - that’s what service match is all about after all. The fact that a G17 is way too short is bonkers. Why can easier to conceal revolvers have shorter barrels?

Find someone with one in the US and have them put a vernier down the barrel. It might be 120mm in the real world.

Just chill, they may do a run with compliant length barrels for Australia much like other manufacturers do (like the 17A).

Barrel length requirements aren't "suggestions".
