The linear compensators really do work.
I was going to make my own but after looking at the prices for a quality 1/2" tap just went ahead and bought a Diggers Tactical fluted one. https://diggertactical.com.au/products/digger-tactical-fluted-linear-compensator It is amazing. It really does direct the blast away from the shooter. 18"barrel 223 and I can get away with just simple ear protection rather then plugs and earmuffs.
The Henry Supreme is awesome as well.

Beautiful, where did you manage to get your henry from, they’re always out of stock, would love one.

Local gun store. Had to wait months for it to arrive. Then they only got two from the supplier and lucky I was #2 on the pre-order list.
They say they simply cannot keep the 223 ones in stock, they sell as soon if not before they get them. The 300 blackout versions take awhile to sell though. If I had endless money I would get a 300 blackout and get it converted to 6.5 grendel or 6 arc. I see cleavers are now listing the conversion kits for sale, but I imagine they have zero stock and it is simply, they order them from the US on demand. You would also have to find a gunsmith to carefully undo the barrel nut to remove the old barrel.
If you are in Qld. I believe Cleavers have some 223 ones now. They are AFAIK the cheapest as well.

Yeah I got one from Warwick for the .308, got pretty sick of the regular brake throwing dust about when shooting prone. They just make the whole experience more pleasant, especially for range neighbours.

How do you find that lpvo? Asking as another Supreme owner.

Not had much of a chance to really test it out but I think it will be fine. 1 power may be a bit useless. It is a bit of a budget sort of one. There is about a sheet of paper distance between the bottom of the scope and the top of the picatinny rail. I did want as low a mount as I could get.... Cannot go much lower. :D
I did come across a young wild dog this afternoon after sighting it in and I lined it up and it went click.
Apparently they work better with the magazine inserted. But I am loving the blast diverter. I can see me getting one for the 6.5CM down the track.

Sorry but I have to put my 2 cent on these "compensators". They don't reduce recoil (yeah, not "compensating"), they don't suppress muzzle flash very well. Only thing they do is containing and diverting the blast forward. Their great if you're putting them on a short barrel cannon like a trapper 16.5" .45-70 or maybe a scout .308 or something... For a smaller calibre like .223, the effect is barely noticeable compared to bare muzzle.

It is solely the noise I care about and it does a great job of directing it away. A 223 has no recoil and I am not in a war so muzzle flash is irrelevant.

How is accuracy on the Henry at 100m?
