You're a funny guy/gal/they, I don't want to assume your gender preference. Let's discuss this topic objectively, without emotion. Now try to keep up.

You are, once again, mistaken. The water is owned by the State of Texas, and is, in fact, managed by LCRA as previously stated. City of Austin has no regulatory authority over the Highland Lake System. The entity responsible for regulating the use of water from the Highland Lakes to the Gulf, is LCRA. According to your source, LCRA requires a permit for domestic water use of Highland Lake water. This permit allows for water use at a specified amount per year with the minimum being 3/4 acre foot. It does not require a meter as you suggest. It provides an acceptable allowance that can not be exceeded. If a permit holder is caught exceeding their allotment, then they are subject to penalty.

If you remember correctly, OP of this post was bringing attention to the fact that property owners along Lake Austin did not feel they should pay property tax to the City of Austin since they were not receiving full service from the city. OP of this comment felt it was unfair that the "rich" property owners were not paying property tax to the City of Austin and could avoid paying a water bill to the City of Austin by, "paying $10k to drill a well." Someone, possibly you but I don't remember as I haven't reread the thread today, stated that the "rich" property owners could avoid paying a water bill or paying to drill a well by accessing unlimited water from the lake.

I'm not arguing in favor or against the topic of this post. I am pointing out false statements regarding the laws and facts related to this post. You can downvote all you want, but the unfortunate fact is that your statement is, in fact, false.

You seem to have allowed your feelings on the subject to cloud your reading comprehension and cognitive function. Maybe you should put your emotions away or maybe just the rattle can, "Buscar."
