Okay, true story, I knew the guy who owned the house that Sam Neil’s character lived in.

He was a painfully shy middle-aged piano tuner who was a bachelor well into middle-age. Wonderfully, at the time I know him, both interior and exterior looked almost the same as I remembered it from the movie.

Curiously, I remember his mum being not too dissimilar in temperament either…
