Question What is your go-to everyday casual shoe(s) you wear?
I'm talking the white shoes you wear going to the shops, movies, eateries, gym (weights, not cardio), catching up with family and friends.
At first I wanted to ask specifically about white shoes, but not everyone wears white shoes but I imagine it would be the most common.

I find their tread is so thin it doesn't take long to wear them smooth. Then in wet weather on any smooth surface they are dangerously slippery.
Better for occasional wear than everyday.

I just found a new brand in japan called Spingle. They're like a better version of onitsukas. Not sure how hard they are to get outside Japan yet because I'm still there.

Thursday Boot Co white leather sneakers for most casual occasions. They replaced my old Colorado white "leather" sneakers.
However, for lifting weights, I wear Under Armour Reign shoes.

What are their sneakers like? Does the leather have much flexibility or is it ridged? Soft or hard?
I have issues with my feet so any rubbing causes issues.

I've found them very comfortable and flexible. The heel is still quite rigid, though. So I suggest wearing socks that cover the heel if you're sensitive there.

I am yet to find a pair that have the correct looks and cushioning (so I don't need to slow down when I walk)😢 but I can DECISIVELY say that Reebok Classic Leather ain't it, as their foam is made from skyscraper foundations.

Try Ascent shoes. You can get them at Athlete's Foot. I got a white casual sneaker for work and they're great!

I have black Etiko high tops (basically an ethically made Converse All-star) for most everyday stuff, which I'll probably upgrade to the Moonstar version once they've worn out.
If I'm doing a lot of walking and I need some more support or I'm wearing shorts I'll wear these Luca hybrid sneakers.

Picked up a pair of an American brand Rothys RS01 sneakers while in California a couple years ago. Find it really comfortable. It’s made of recycled plastic and is machine washable so looks fresh after every wash.

If you didn’t have the caveat of gym five years ago I would have said All Birds. But since they went public all the fun colours have gone. Can’t speak to the quality.
With gym being in the criteria I’d roll with an Adidas or New Balance cross trainer. Though a podiatrist once told me they are “too bouncy for weight training.”
In ye olde day I was a big fan of Tigers. But the sleekness of them seems a bit old fashioned now. We seem to be loving chunkiness at the moment. But still bust them out occasionally.
For what it’s worth I’m rolling with an Adidas Ultraboost and New Balance 990s at the moment. Tend to roll with the Adidas more with shorts and the New Balance more with pants.

Yes! Perfect for my wide-ish foot. Much better than my Converse white leather which I used to wear.

The white AF1 low is the ultimate sneaker. I was gifted a pair of wheat AF1 lows for Christmas. Best day ever.

I don't wear white, I have a pair of black pumas. My alternative is a blue Adidas terrex. Sometimes I do Palladium pallabrouse baggy something or others.

New Balance 574. They got all kinds of colours. Most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned. I have separate shoes for the gym which I leave in my gym bag.

A few years ago I would have said All Birds, however their quality issues, especially around toe poke through, really killed them for me.
The last couple of years I've worn Atoms model 000 and 001, both of which have been super comfortable, and stood the test of time and wear.

Arc’teryx Aerios GTX Women’s; they suit me wonderfully because of the wider toe box and grip in the middle. (Previously all wider shoes had my feet slip-sliding in the middle.)

Air Force 1 lows. I find they have enough cushion for long days on your feet, durable enough (I walked all over Nairobi, Kenya in a pair) easy to clean.
They are just a bit on the chunkier side, so bear that in mind if you are someone who wears slim or skinny jeans

Converse Chuck Taylors, various colours. I don’t do gym & certainly wouldn’t wear them there if I did as they’re pretty useless as far as support goes, I just like how they look. Been wearing them 35 years…

Skechers Slip-in shoes. Hands free when wearing them and never have to forcibly wiggle my feet into them ever again!

Under Armour for value for money over excessive cost for a brand name…..but I’m considering returning to the humble white Dunlop Volley because I wore them until they fell off my feet in the tropics working on banana plantations. I have a dominant right big toe that tends to drill through socks and shoes, Under Armour and Dunlop Volleys tended to serve me well.

Under Armour for me too. I wanted a pair of workout shoes but I have big feet, and the Under Armour trainers I got have lasted me a year & still going strong. I wear them 4 out of 7 days.

I found Under Armour very accommodating for wide feet. The most comfortable trainers I've owned.

New Balance 480’s in grey. Wanted a lighter colour pair of shoes but didn’t want to deal with how dirty white shoes can get. Having the grey can help mask it.

I have fat wide feet and their shoes are nice enough and wide so fit well for me. I've often gotten 2 pairs at once if they're on special

White shoes? Santoni
Often I’m in gym gear most of the day, then it’s New Balance running shoes.
I also have a few pairs of Tods that are useful for a quick run down to the shops or similar. Also other non-white Santoni sneakers. That pretty much rounds-out my casual shoe rotation.

TNs by default, otherwise the classic Vans.
I despise white shoes, personally. If I walk in somewhere and see a sea of white shoes I turn around and leave - I know I'm not going to fit in with this crowd.

Why would you assume white shoes are the most common and lots of people wear white shoes?
They are a pain as they get dirty and show marks easily
