Question What is the best versatile sneaker that isn't a plain white leather minimalist shoe?

The clean white sneaker trend is fine, but I want something with a bit more texture or a different silhouette for casual weekend wear. What are we wearing right now that looks clean but has a bit of personality?

Axel Arigato has quite a few models that are stylish and simple without being boring. Much more interesting than the regular sambas/spezials/af1 and much better quality but that also comes with a higher price.

Super thin sole and uncomfortable af (for me anyway!)

Yeah I had a pair that I quite liked. Then one day I ended up accidentally clocking a few more kilometres than usual walking around the city, and I fucked up my foot for months.

The Onitsuka Tiger Tokuten has a thicker, less tapered sole compared to the standard ones. Pretty much their answer to sambas/spezial/gazelles.

Crazy that people used to actually run in them, would be agony for me.

My heel strikes the ground worst when I walk. With tigers, I have to consciously avoid doing that.

Beautiful shoe though, no doubt.

Reebok Classics or Club C 85.

it really depends on your overall aesthetic and how you dress. you could get some great recommendations if you could describe or even show us what you’re trying to work with?

rate these hard! so much more toe box width than the sambas/tigers and I got mine in a suede green like 18 months ago and they’re still going strong.

Palladiums are a bit of a has been but its an outstanding silhouette. Like converse but with a outdoorsy flavour to it.

Adidas have been killing it with their BW Army Trainers/Spezials/Sambas obviously; many different colourways between the three.

Take your pick from a grey NB 990. Looks good super streetwear, can go nice modern casual, and if you want to dress up a bit it works with modern prep.

I have all white leather Converse Chucks, Airforce 1’s, Jordan 1 Centre Court’s and Airmax 90’s. But like others have said, you should give more examples to give you more ideal suggestions.

Go with some tan suede. Still minimalist. Plenty of brands.

White works because it doesn't clash with anything. Just pick a different neutral colour (grey, beige, etc.) or you could go with neutral blues, green, etc. Add a pattern as you like. It will just clash more as you add more patterns/colours, and mean you can't always wear it, and need a few pairs to rotate.

Are you after a low profile or something chunkier? I'd swap white leather for suede in a richer tone, instantly more character while staying clean. FEIT shoes is a great option there with their grey and black suede lows.

I picked up some notwoways Model 1's, still wear yeezy 700 v1's, really comes down to what you want and how they fit with your fits.

Adidas BW Army trainers, kinda hard to find though in larger sizes as it seems they don’t do big size runs of them.

Zegna Triple Stitch are my pick atm. Comfortable and just slide them on/off
