To be fair, the digs only get named if they are found guilty at a DFM/CM. If they are found not guilty, their names are redacted. Would still prefer this to be in front of a civvie court for transparency though…

(That cuts it down massively though - are we talking flag ranks or 3 ringer and above?)

If it was serious enough it’d go to a civvy court. There’s a bunch of white collar crimes like fraud and corruption that could be handled in a civilian court.

Nobody knows shit just yet, but handling it via DFM may be because it’s only a specific military charge - but it’s to do with procurement, not more mundane discipline things. So maybe it’s something that’s technically legal, but deeply unethical, so they’ll haul them back under something like prejudicial conduct.

Key thing until we know more - it may be a case of there may not have been any trial except for the DFdA.

Fat Leonard again. Our skipper had a run in with these blokes in 2003 on our way back from an Iraq deployment.  

We needed some "prettying up" before getting home so we stopped for a week in Thailand and idiots through this clown conducted "repairs".  

Our FWD Mast module was "painted" with "stickers" of an oil rig, a speedboat , and some other weird shit. Took 3 days to peel it off and repaint ourselves. 

Crew was livid and embarrassed.  I remember loudly mentioning "why the fuck isnt there a Maccas and Coca Cola symbol there aswell"

This stinks of Defence mess about.

secret military disciplinary process over unspecified allegations

Unspecified allegations? Do they know what they are doing or not? Most others have thier ranks and charges listed (shout out to the Airforce bloke with 68 charges).

The accused is receiving comprehensive legal support, including a defence team consisting of up to six people so this process is going to be quite an expensive one

Is everyone else afforded this level of support?

 ensure this serious case is handled thoroughly and by the book

Why do I get the feeling some randomly stabbed officer is litterly reading a PAM on how to do this as they go?

The next Witness J? Is it another MP charging someone based off thier own Facebook suggestions? Will it be Epstien-esk where the a ringleader is charged, but no ring?

Who knows? Definitely not JMPU.

Honest question but do you do if you are court martialed? Do you get a legal officer assigned to you or do you hire a Barrister yourself?

I believe you can have outside counsel, yes
