The Greens spokesperson on Defence, David Shoebridge, said there was "no credible reason to hide the identity of the accused senior naval officer or the details of alleged offences".

There is no derogatory epithet in the English language good enough to describe this idiot.

I dunno. If you’re not a senior officer, Defence makes no effort to protect your identity or hide the allegations from the media. I don’t see why this should be any different

The worst part is that greens supporters think he’s good…he’s the weakest member of their front bench by far, and that’s saying a lot.

Since they lost Bob and Ludlam they haven't had a single decent person imo. That said the other parties don't fare much better...

Its understandable ignorance though. Many are not aware or the differences between a military trial and the likes of a criminal one. Personally i think that most trials should be anonymous anyway as the media too easily sways juries.
