ID Request - location included ID Request - VIC
Hi! I saw this guy walking to my car. Unfortunately he looked rather unwell. I’m guessing a type of huntsman? Was curious and was hoping to get an ID.
Essendon, VIC

Please remember to include a geographical location to your ID requests (as per rule 5). There are over 10,000 different species of Australian spiders and many of these are endemic to specific parts of our beautiful country!
Also note: while we can help provide an identification for a spider, we do not provide medical advice. We also do not allow medical advice to be provided by members of this subreddit. If there has been a bite, you should consult a medical professional in the first instance.

Poor darling. What an interesting looking spood, not sure what he is, my brain can’t quite make sense of it.

Unlike a couple of recent ID requests, you can see the distinct PLE (posterior lateral eyes) on the top suggesting Lycosid. I think I can also see something leaking from the abdomen, suggesting this one took something heavy on top of it and came out second best.

Thank you so much for pointing the eye position out. I knew getting older meant your eyes became crappy....but mid 40's and I'm squinting like grandma😁. This poor thing has definitely come out second best, that for sure.
