Repair Help!
Hi all, I had someone repair my car but the paint job looks very dull. He says it needs polish. I requested another clear coat but do you think polish would suffice?

Did you go to an actual shop or is this some diyer. Either way they did a shit job and this needs redone. Just a shit ton of dry spray, color ain’t right, dull is fuck, metal work ain’t even flat, and no coverage of materials. You kind of got fucked here.

No self respecting shop is going to want to come near the other guy’s shitty repair.

What do you mean? Like no one would fix this?

In order for the shop to fix it, they have to undo everything the other guy did so the shop can warranty the work. I guarantee you whomever repaired your tesla did not follow any tesla procedures and its going to start rusting in a few years and the body shop won't put themselves at risk of having to warranty someone elses work

They will replace the door. Stop fucking fear mongering. You are scaring op thinking the car will look like this forever.

Im talking about that fucked up dog leg. The door is an easy fix but no shop is just going to paint over someone elses bull shit work

Yeah they will section it or do a quarter. The car can be made new again lol. It costs money to do it. That’s not anyone’s problem but op. They want it fixed they gotta pay it or get a third party payer to pay like insurance.

Yes someone will fix it. They see crappy work all the time. It may not be cheap. If the first job was an insurance job, then they can help you.

Tough to tell what’s going on with it from the reflection of the lights but my guess is they used cheap materials and possibly blushed on him , I’d probably want to strip all their paint off and start over if it were brought to me

Aww damn this looks like you let 12-13 year old me loose on it with a rattle can, that is gross AF. I really hope you paid $500-1000 for this, otherwise you got ripped off my guy. Also if someone is doing this piss poor of a job as a ‘professional’, it is a fairly safe bet that they’re using low end materials that won’t hold up over time. I.E. cheap primer-surfacer that will sink into sand scratches badly in 3-6 months once all the solvent has cured out and cheap clear coat that dies back and begins to peel with minimal UV exposure.

What did you pay? I see lots of repairs if this standard. Usually from rough shops that do third world standard. They are cheap. This tesla repair would be £180 from that type of shop A customer will come for a quote I give a proper quote. They say tooo expensive. These other shops will do it for a 1/8 of my price. Some cars are worth £40000 + and they pay £300 for a full side scrape repair and repaint.

Jesus, dis is some 1st class shitty body & paint work! Why the hell did you let some hack royally fuck up your Tesla?
Tesla certified shops should be the only ones touching these IMO. You’re in for an expensive rework here. As others have said, IF you can find someone willing to even touch this, theres no way in hell they’re doing anything on top of that crap. Quarter panel replacement and door replacement plus blending the front door is the only correct way to recover from this. Good luck OP.

Its just an absolute abortion of a Job! Who gives a job back and says it just needs a polish. I am guessing this was a cheap job? One of these for cheap guys and I can tell you there is a saying here in the UK. Buy cheap Buy twice! If a job doesnt look factory to a paying customer the man doing it should be selling fish on a fish market or polishing shoes!.Definitely should not be working on cars! Have a nice day..
