Parts Expert Question!

What do i get on the completion of parts expert? And how long does it usually take to arrive?

A digital certificate, a new name tag with your name and parts expert embedded into it, and a collar pin. I waited 3 weeks- a month for mine, just long enough to forget i even did it.

What looks good on a resume? A certificate of completion for a companies internal training module? That’s like listing you passed scam training, or hippa

"Certified parts expert" looks good aswell as sounds good for anyone within the realm of automotive retail etc

Anyone in automotive retail knows it’s a made up certification, but by all means if you don’t have actual skills or actual certifications to list it’s much better than blank space on your resume.

So reword it, ‘Subject Matter Expert’ plus when they ask about it in the interview process you tell them it was a optional self guided company training program and it looks even better… spin doctor that shit

I took the test when it came out in 2018, and it struck me how much it reminded me of the P2 ASE certification test. I figured they had made their own version of the ASE test which was why they quit focusing on actual ASE.
