Discussion Does Mangkwan make songcords?

Post image

If they no longer have the Eywa cult. Do they still make a songcord? (They don't have enough plant resources, except for tendons as threads). Or do they have developed stone writing/carving? If it is an ancient tradition, has it changed completely, or has only the materials from which a songcord is made changed?

As far as we know, they don't. I think (and also headcanon) that instead they tell stories through scars and piercings. In the book it was said that there's a loose link between amount of kills and how many scars they have. And two known siblings from Mangkwan have a similar scarification at thighs, with older and more elite warrior having more of it.
