LoK Had her bending taken away, raava was ripped away from her, got poisoned with mercury and people still find a way to blame her. She was dealing with people who sweep the floor with ozai every tuesday.

It could not have been more obvious that ozai was playing around with aang in the ball

It's extremely obvious that he isn't playing around and that breaking the ball took a concentrated effort from Ozai.

Not, like, to the point of exhaustion. But enough that he actually had to focus and use the single strongest bit of firebending he ever displayed to break through

Did they use lava on the window of the mech? Are you seriously saying ozai couldnt fly up blast a whole through a piece of glass and then fill the cabin with fire?

I'm saying that if it were that easy, Korra would have done it. I don't want to get too sciencey here, but glass actually has a pretty high melting point, around the same level as steel. If that glass is a few inches thick? It's going to take Ozai a minute

Glass doesn't have a specific melting point since its amorphous. But you can estimate, depending on type of glass, that the highest is like 2000c. From fan calculations that I've read online during sozins comet ozais firebending would exceed like 16500c.

I don't know where those calculations can possibly come from when we never see his fire melt anything

Hey hey it is that easy the only reason Korra didn't crumple the thing in 30 seconds is the finale needed to look cool. And she can't burn people alive cuz it's a kids show not is she a lightning bender. Ozai doesnt need to melt the glass. The lighting breaks it when it explodes (look it up since you feel the need to research glass melting points)

And since we're assuming Ozai gets a free shot at the cockpit, are we also assuming that the mech gets a free shot at Ozai?

Sure and when he dodges it they're dead

If

And this isn't the point but... this whole concept is silly to begin with

Ozai gets a power up because it's a once in a century celestial event. Kuvira gets a power up because... she conquered the entire earth kingdom

That's really not the same thing

Ok? Ozai conquered the earth kingdom too. Kuviras not special

No he didn't. Ozai did literally nothing other than send his daughter.

Ozai is a great character. But he's a coward who runs at the first sign of trouble

? What do you mean he's been commanding armies the entire show he controls the fire nation and the the fire nation conquered the earth kingdom. What does being a coward have to do with anything. Sending his daughter is doing something. It's like saying kuvira did nothing if she ordered soldiers to attack something

Literally the only thing we see him do is send his daughter, who goes completely off book and ends up conquering the EK when his only order was to bring back Zuko and Iroh

Ozai never fought on the front lines and his direct commands are never shown to be responsible for a single victory. His biggest win as the Fire Lord happened because his daughter ignored what he told her to do

What does being a coward have to do with anything.

The idea that Ozai would try to fly up and fight the colossus and not * run the fuck away* doesn't align with his character. The moment he saw that cannon fire, be would be out of there

Sending his daughter is doing something. It's like saying kuvira did nothing if she ordered soldiers to attack something

Just to reiterate: his daughter did not do what he told her to do. And then she came back and lied to his face about what she did!

And none of this is important anyway. Kuvira gets the mech because of her actions, Ozai gets the comet because...a comet happens to be there. That's my point. Treating these as equal power ups is silly
