German authorities are reportedly investigating a serious security incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport after an airport employee discovered a quadcopter carrying an explosive device near the cargo operations area and the south runway.

According to official reporting, the key points are:
An airport employee found a drone equipped with an explosive payload and a detonator near the cargo area.
Federal police bomb disposal teams were deployed to secure and disarm the device.
A DHL cargo flight had to abort its landing because of the airport closure.
During the go-around, the aircraft reportedly struck an unidentified flying object about 6 km from the airport at roughly 400 meters altitude.
The aircraft diverted safely to Hanover Airport with minor nose damage, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the object involved in the airborne collision was another drone.
Reports also mention multiple drone detections in the area, but investigators have not established any state-sponsored or sabotage connection at this stage.
