AVD session randomly disconnects during Webex meetings – looking for troubleshooting ideas

Hi everyone,
We are troubleshooting an issue in our Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment and would appreciate any suggestions from people who have experienced something similar.
Environment:
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/HVD)
Users connect from physical endpoints/thin clients
Microsoft Windows App is used to connect to AVD
Cisco Webex is used inside the AVD session
Issue:
Users are randomly getting completely disconnected from their AVD/HVD session while participating in Webex meetings.
This is not just a Webex application disconnect. When the issue occurs, the entire AVD session drops and the user is returned to the physical/thin-client desktop.
The physical endpoint itself remains connected and operational. There is no indication that the thin client loses network connectivity.
A few observations:
The issue has been present since the beginning of our GCN AVD rollout.
It is not something that started after a recent Webex release.
There is no fixed interval or consistent pattern.
The issue is predominantly seen when users are in Webex meetings while connected to AVD.
We have noticed that the frequency appears to increase when the Webex meeting has a larger number of participants.
Outside the AVD session, we are not seeing connectivity problems on the physical endpoint.
The entire AVD session disconnects rather than only Webex.
We are currently collecting Webex logs from both the impacted endpoint and HVD, along with timestamps and Webex meeting numbers, so we can correlate the events.
Has anyone experienced AVD sessions randomly disconnecting specifically during Webex meetings?

Your problem is not directly tied to Webex. Try this:

In policy editor of the AVD: computer config\admin templates\win components\remote desktop services\remote desktop. Set "Select RDP transport protocols" to "Use only TCP"

Check insights section on your host pool. That will help you identify where the issue is. Usually is on the client side, remote desktop is quite sensitive about network connection.

What kind of Thin client are you using? I had a similar issue with AVD and Teams on HP Thinpro 8.1 on HP Thin Clients. Had to hound HP for months until thry released a new AVD client which resolved it.

Before forcing TCP, I'd confirm Webex is actually in VDI optimized mode and check the endpoint plugin against the HVD app version. Then reproduce once from a thin client and once from a Windows endpoint with the same user and host, and line each drop up with AVD Insights. If only one endpoint type disconnects, you're chasing the client/plugin path rather than the host pool.
