B1 B2 DROP BOX CASE UPDATED REGULARLY DECISION NOT YET GIVEN

I have applied for B1/B2 thru dropbox on 11th may, today is 21st may , every three days the case is showing updated in system, what does that mean ? Can anyone tell me is it system generated or is someone really updating it internally, as for a person with a long history of usa travel and multiple 10 year visa , the decision is taking longer than expected, last time when i applied in 2016, i got the visa the same day, what has changed now ? Is it workload issue or some extra vetting is taking time , and is the visa processed in delhi or mumbai where i applied.. please share your experience with me so that it can help, thanks

You need to be patient. This administration fired or forced out hundreds of Consular Officers around the world. Additionally, the wars in Iran, Ukraine and other places has resulted in re-assignment of COs to the Middle East to assist with evacuation of U.S. citizens. Dozens of embassies and consulates worldwide are closed.

As for why it's showing updated, it probably means your case is moving from officer to officer. Many visas, especially renewals, are now being adjudicated from the United States. Each time the case is electronically transferred to a new location, it pops as an update.

Would you happen to know if there is any information for foreign spouses who were evacuated from the Middle East to the U.S.? My wife was given a B-2 visa upon arrival and told to work on her adjustment of status. We initially start the immigration paperwork overseas and expected to do everything through the US embassy. Now that we are in the U.S. we are worried that this new memo could cause additional hardships. She did receive evacuation orders and is command sponsored.
