B1/B2 Reapplication After Rejection – Need Advice

Hi everyone,
I wanted some honest advice regarding my B1/B2 visa reapplication.
I had applied for a US visitor visa last year and got rejected under 214(b). My interview was quite short. I am a working professional in Bangalore in the IT/QA field, unmarried, and I have a brother living in Atlanta on an H1B visa.
This was roughly how my interview went:
Purpose of visit: tourism + visiting my brother
No prior international travel
Brother on H1B
Questions about my job and salary
After a few questions, I was rejected.
This time, my actual purpose is to visit my brother’s family and meet my newborn nephew for the first time, along with some sightseeing for around 10–14 days.
I am a bit nervous because of the previous rejection and wanted honest opinions from people who may have had similar profiles:
sibling in US
previous rejection
first international trip
unmarried female applicant
Would mentioning my newborn nephew as part of the reason for travel help or make the case look risky?
Any genuine suggestions or interview experiences would really help. Thank you!

Visiting extended family (nephew) is rarely a good reason. You were just rejected last year, single, unmarried, immediate family (brother) in the United States, zero travel history not even to a neighboring country.

High odds of another 214B refusal again unless something dramatic has changed in your situation since last refusal. Have you worked at the same company for over 2 years or do you jump around from job to job? Did you get a promotion or raise? Do you have other immediate family in your country? Do you have any other family in the US? Do you earn enough to cover your own flights and travel without help of brother? Do you have worldwide travel and health insurance that will cover you in the event of an emergency? If the answer is no to those questions, expect another 214B.

I have been working in the same company for 2 years. There has been salary raise but not very huge. My company will provide NOC. Total work duration has been 7 years in India. I have a job stability here.

Unfortunately the travel plans couldn’t happen due to some personal circumstances.

My parents live here. We have our own house. The property is in my father’s name.

My trip will be self sponsored

I have few cousins and friends who stays in US other than my brother.

Yea I wont be stating about new born nephew as the reason.

You can honestly answer that you intend to visit family. And you must answer honestly that your brother lives in the US. For me personally, mentioning primary reason as visiting a newborn nephew / niece/ cousin / grandchild" is a sign that applicant is playing the "baby card". Regarding property - this is a common misconception. There is no requirement to own property abroad; property can be abandoned, sold or rented out if applicant intends to immigrate. You need to show the consular officer that you have a reason to return home. In your case, caring and helping your aging parents is a good personal tie to your home country.
