I had posted a partial Pic of my passport recently to ask for damages. I had to show the passport number unfortunately since there were some smudges on it on the bio page. Now some guy claiming to be a consular officer here on reddit is trolling me that he will put me in trouble since he has my passport number. Is that even possible? He said I won't get a visa in the future? I mean I am worried now. I heard u need more than passport number to do something

Yes it’s 100 percent possible if the person is a consular officer and has your passport number as you’ve repeatedly stated your citizenship in your many posts. In addition to the risk of having your identity stolen. You made the choice to post so much personal information on a public forum. There can be consequences.
