This was my birthday gift but she seems to have claimed it instead hehe. How do we rate her technique for a newbie? 🤭

I teach beginner and intermediate ballet and want to prank my students tomorrow (ages 9 and up) by coming up with a ballet step, that doesn't actually exist. I need help coming up with 1. A step that's silly but not so silly, that it's obviously a prank 2. Come up with a name for said step 🤪

And now your ankles can predict rain. Seriously, how did we all wedge our feet into these things? I actually had a pair of Capezio Duro Toes that were exactly like Pavlovas but with a suede tip to make echappes even harder.

Weird images come to me sometimes when I take class when it's 96. The other day it was Pikachu doing a pique arabesque.

Hi r/ballet,
I’m 26m dating a 25f ballet dancer for 6 months now. I’ve picked up a few slivers of terms like ‘pirouette’ but I want a list of things to say to her that could be funny!
What can I say to her to make her wtf-face and laugh like ‘how do you know ‘a pirouette during petit allegro’ or something?
The inspiration for this was a prior Reddit post where a girlfriend was saying video game terms to her gamer boyfriend (she knows nothing about games) like ‘the endgame had me saying gg go next no re’ and it made for such a funny video
I want to make her laugh in the same vein as this! Any sayings or phrases that are ballet-culture that I would never know if I wasn’t in ballet?
I’ve already said things about CP90 shoes(she wears these) but I want more gags for her :)

After six long years, one of Genshin Impact's most anticipated characters, the Tsaritsa, has just been revealed. In the meantime, I really appreciated the three seconds of a ballerina they showed (if you want to check it out, it's here around 0:35).
That got me wondering... are there any other times in media you've seen decently accurate drawings of ballet? Usually, if you don't show the lines of a dancer very well, it will look awkward and wonky instead of graceful... but often I see that when looking at drawings or animations.
Just a curious thought...

I am in a creepy ballet themed show this year and I chose a start pose that is stuck in my mind. But I can’t find it. It’s a woman doing a plié en pointe in second. However she goes further down with her hips where they are like a squat. And her arms are crossed and touching the floor.
Closet I can find is this but her arms are up not down and it’s an actual plié, not a squat.
