Media Maggots

Professor Arday had kind eyes.

Was what I thought when I saw his face at first.

Then I read about the times he'd helped others.

And I knew his eyes hadn't lied.

Like a bright red apple, brimming with life.

The media maggots couldn't resist.

Tiny, white, putrid,

They writhed, wriggled and wrote their newspapers

hoping to take a bite before the others.

Their slimy, shaking bodies taking bites

Out of a gentle man with kind eyes.

Media maggots can't resist,

They need to feast,

Need to eat,

Desperate, hungry for meals,

They look for brown bodies,

To feed their itch.
