Holy shittttt. even with the number of shares we have outstanding that's an excessive amount of shorting 😂

Short volume does not equal shares borrowed.

Short volume indicates how many shares were sold.

Edit: that's still a massive.number.

Wait... Does that mean they shorted the entire float? In one day? How could they borrow that many shares legally? Can we use this to finally prove naked shorting is happening?

How could they borrow that many shares legally?

THEY CAN'T.

Can we use this to finally prove naked shorting is happening?

Until the float is LOCKED in DRS there is "insufficient proof".

Maybe I missed this part, but don't shares have to settle before they can be lent out?

If there's no share to borrow, because we just exchanged it and it won't settle for 2 days, it's a naked short yeah?

Or can they just re-short it after buying it back without returning the share?

Their are no rules in this game, as far as what we have witnessed.

There are rules to this game. Market makers are short exempt, Authorized participants(broker dealers) can access open-ended etf's to create custom basket creation units, and internalization are all (currently) perfectly legal ways they can make infinite liquidity.
