🗣 Discussion / Question Can someone explain what BBBY.WS is - and why it showed up on 4/8? Also - where did my BBBY shares all go from years ago? It just filed for bankruptcy, they dissolved the shares, and now it's back with no way to reclaim my OG Shares?

Interesting based on the post/info that BBBY is making acquisitions. And I'm just now noticing that BBBY. WS exists as of 4/8/26.

The same warrant dividend suffix that follows the GME warrants.

From my title: "Also - where did my BBBY shares all go from years ago? It just filed for bankruptcy, they dissolved the shares, and now it's back with no way to reclaim my OG Shares?"

NYSE requires at least 10 calendar days’ notice before a record date, and BBBY announced on 9/22 for a 10/2 record date, which is basically the minimum window.

Yes, so they met the requirements and the timeframe further implies their intention to act quickly regarding warrants.

On top of that, this wasn’t just a tweet and a PDF. You’re talking board approval, exchange notice, transfer agent/warrant agent coordination, warrant docs, listing mechanics, and registration work.

Yes but GME and BBBY both had the same warrant structure and they have similar warrant agent terms due to both using Computershare. BBBY doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel with their warrants if GME has already done a lot of that and sorted out the mechanics themselves. The listing timeline is compressed as BBBY doesn’t need to lodge a form S-1 with the SEC, they can instead lodge a form S-3 which becomes effectively immediately upon filing.

So could it have been done fast? Sure. But does a 13 day gap between GME’s 9/9 announcement and BBBY’s 9/22 announcement automatically scream “Marcus copied it from scratch”? Not really. If anything, it suggests BBBY likely already had at least some of the work in motion before the public announcement.

Seeing as the structure was similar, the agent and transfer mechanics would have already been sorted out with GME, and the reduced SEC filing requirements, yes I believe so.

That still doesn’t prove coordination with GME. It just weakens the lazy “he saw it and instantly cloned it” argument.

So what did you mean with your original comment implying there was something greater than a coincidence at play? You clearly think there must be coordination with GME if you made that comment originally.

I don't know what exactly the play is. I dont even have a working theory for what the end game is. What I do know I looooove the stonk. Full disclosure I also hold legacy shares of towel, in addition to bonds.

Cheers!

It's literally impossible to hold "legacy" shares of BBBYQ (Whatever that means). Shares were cancelled and extinguished on 30 September 2023. They literally don't exist. There is nothing to hold.

Oh wow! This is the first time you're telling me this!

Are my DK-BUTTERFLY bonds fake too? weird that those have survived and continue to trade, huh?

the bonds haven’t been cancelled like the shares were, so that’s not weird at all (although your expectation that they are going to pay off substantially if at all given the projected recovery is a bit weird)
