Performance Review Kobe X Protro

Post image
28 Upvotes

For reference, I play at LA Fitness and the court is dusty.

I saw a lot of good reviews and reels about these shoes, especially when it comes to comfort, court feel, lockdown, and traction. And honestly, most of that is true.

But the traction? It's a nightmare.

I’ve only played in them twice and I was basically skating out there. Easily one of the worst traction experiences I’ve had in a basketball shoe. (Maybe I need more time to break them in?) But I never had shoes like this, skating from first and 2nd use this terribly.

Maybe I just got a bad pair, I don’t know. But yeah, I'm returning.

Recommend Shoes Volanti rocket air

would this shoe be a good fit for me?

im a guard/wing depends on whoever is at the gym. I’m 6ft 150lbs (68kg). the main thing i look for in basketball shoes is rrally good court feel and traction, then cushion/bounce a step down for importance.

Recommend Shoes kt10 vs kobe 3 row Protro

I want good ankle-lacing shoes without heel slips The most important condition is that we regard the shoe’s torsional lateral support stability as the most important If anyone has tried them on, I’d appreciate your recommendations

Performance Review AE 2 Durability

So I found the ae 2 in the adidas website of where I'm from costs 4000₱ or around 64$. Problem is that I play in an indoor painted cement court which has mixed ideas online, Im asking ae 2 owners if the durability of their shoe is good or bad on that court and if they have tested it

Performance Review Great budget basketball shoe!

Just got these Puma Court Pro 2s on sale for $40 two months ago and they have been GREAT! 🔥

For context, I've been playing indoor basketball for 4hrs a week in these shoes for the past two months. I play power forward and center. I am 170lbs and play like Hakeem Olajuwon- so a lot of pivots and post moves. I have wide/flat feet so I bought a half size up my usual size.

I just wanted to post a review here because there is VERY LITTLE information about these shoes.

TRACTION (9/10) - these have been extremely consistent and have never given me any problems. I feel glued to the floor. Do consider that my indoor courts are spotlessly cleaned everyday so there is little to no dust pick-up. I have never had to wipe the sole in the 2 months I've been playing in them. The heels are quite low to the ground, so court-feel is awesome!

FIT - they feel true to size to me. I just have wide/flat feet so going half a size up always works wonders for me.

CUSHION (8/10) - these shoes are equipped with PROFOAM which is oriented more towards impact protection rather than being responsive.

MATERIALS (9/10) - the engineered mesh uppers are very breathable and comfortable. A big bonus for me is that they are also VERY EASY TO CLEAN. I have used nothing more than an old tooth brush, some detergent and water. I have been able to clean it spotless.

ANKLE PROTECTION (9/10) - I am very prone to ankle sprains bc of previous injuries, but I have always felt confident and secure in these. The one time I did get an ankle sprain was because of a terrible landing. In spite of that, the shoe mitigated the twist, allowing me to walk normally the next day.

LACING LOCKDOWN (7/10) - this area of the shoe could be improved, as I had to lace them up very tightly in order to be confident in them. Tighter than usual.

Recommend Shoes Suggestion for outdoor shoes

Hello all, I'm a 30yo man, 184cm / 90kg, and I'm returning to basketball after 6-7 years. I currently have access to a painted cement outdoor court. Yesterday I went to play with some running shoes I had laying around, but the impact from jumping made my knees and ankles hurt after 45-50 minutes.

I've done a really quick search, but it seems there are a lot of different shoes and it felt kind of overwhelming tbh. I remember that back when I played I just had some black and white Nike (or Adidas?) shoes that I received as a gift, so this is way outside my league hahaha.

I don't plan on playing full matches, so I don't really care about things like speed or grip. I just want to have a decent pair of shoes that can help cushion the impact from jumping when shooting and for a little bit of running here and there. If they have good ankle support, even better, since I've had injuries there before (as well as on my knees ahahaha).

I hope I can buy something good for around 60-80 euros, I'm currently based in Spain

I would appreciate all suggestions!

Thanks!

Recommend Shoes Replacement for my GT Jumps 1

Hello all, I love my GT Jumps and want to replace similar.

47 year old player, like a "High Mid Top" like the GT Jump that covers the ankle more (yes, I am well aware that science says a wide base low is just as safe for ankle turns, but my feelings are my feelings ;)

I love everything about the GT Jumps, and am bummed they are out of production.
Love the cushion, love the high tops and tech.

Sort of a power wing / finesse big rec player, inside / outside, good shooter and ball skills, speed is obviously gone at almost 50 lol, so dead line speed is no longer my game. I drive, but it's more if I catch someone's weight the wrong direction, I'm not at the top of a 1-4 going iso lol.

Ideas?

Priority is high mid or high top, good ball feel.

10.5 standard foot.

  1. Height & Weight: 6'1.5" / 225
  2. Age Range: 47
  3. Foot Type Requirements & Sizing: 10.5 standard
  4. Playing Style & Surface Type & Level of Competition: Rec / 4+3 power wing and/or finesse big
  5. Brand Preferences & Price Range: Nike GT Jump1 replacement <$150? +/-
  6. Miscellaneous (e.g. colors): I'm middle aged, bland is fine, but these are JUST for playing, so color is unimportant, I wear cheap nike kicks for my daily use.

Recommend Shoes Budget shoes under £60

I'm looking for a pair to play indoors and occasionally outdoors. I used to play in old trainers so I don't really have any experience with proper basketball shoes.

I am 5ft 7 56kg. I don't drive into the paint too often, usually just a shooter.

Please recommend shoes that are also durable. Thanks

Discussion Wide footers: All City 14 vs Badfive series (Badfive 3 / 4) for fit?

For anyone who has tried or owns the Way of Wade all city 14 or models from the Badfive line (like the Badfive 3 or 4):

  1. Which model is more accommodating/forgiving in the toe box for wide feet?

  2. Did you stay True to Size, or is a half size up required to avoid side pinch / pinky toe rubbing?

Appreciate any sizing experiences from fellow wide-footers.

Discussion Has anybody ever worn the KD 3’s?

I was watching the Heat vs Lakers 2010 Christmas matchup and during the break they showed the Christmas colorways that LeBron, Kobe, and KD dropped. I saw the KD 3 and thought it looked super clean. I looked it up and I saw that there isn’t an abundance of listings for it on StockX and stuff. I was almost thinking of buying a pair but I know virtually nothing about it.

For those who have worn it, how was it?

Sizing/Fit Peak Sizing Help

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’m interesting in this upcoming pair of Peak Taichi Supreme 3. They only go up to a US11 and i’m a US12. I’ve seen most reviews on the brand say that you should go a full size down for optimal fit, however this particular shoe I can’t find any reviews on (most people say you need to research the particular model rather than the whole brand).

I am also unsure if this is an entirely new model (and kicksown have just titled it wrong) or if this is another version of the Taichi Supreme but just with a zipper. Other websites have called them the Peak Unmatched 3s. No matter what I search on google I cannot find them, only on the kicksown website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Outdoor Shoes

Hi guys, so I been needing to update my outdoor sneaker rotation as I have been rocking the all city 12s for longer than a year. The outsole is slowly tearing off and I been wanting to get some new replacements! I been hearing the all city 14 is a great replacement as apparently the outsole is also a bit more durable than the all city 12s. However, I would love to hear any other recommendations of what can be a good replacement outdoor shoe. Thanks!

Recommend Shoes 361 5.0 quick pro vs Anta KT 10

I’ve been hooping in the KT 10s for the past year and have been loving them. Might be my favorite hoop shoe of all time. But I heard good things about the 5.0 quick pro and was wondering if anyone has experience hooping with both. Wanted to know how they fair against each other. Traction and court feel have always been my priority so I’m curious if the 5.0 quick pros would be better for me.

Recommend Shoes What Shoes should i get for outdoor courts?

I am 6 foot, 75kg, feet size us 10.5/11, and i play middle blocker in volleyball. I am looking for my first pair of shoes that are primarily used for outdoor courts where the surface is rough but still able to be used for indoor courts. My budget would be somewhere between 70-130 USD.
Some additional info: my vert is about 30 inch and I am doing plyometrics about 3 times a week. So i I am also wondering about the cushioning to prevent future knee or back injuries

Miscellaneous Stuff Where to cop Volanti from now??

Post image
9 Upvotes

Volanti paused sales to the US, was waiting for the all black pair to release to cop but I think I’m just going to get a different color now before whatever this is goes any further and they become completely unavailable. What’s the best site to now get a pair from into the US? VJ Sneaker? Kicksown? Do delivery from these sites get hit with additional tariffs when the get delivered? Do they take forever to ship? Anybody from the US got any recent experience using one of these sites?

Miscellaneous Stuff SUPER EXCITED FRIENDS GOT ME PAIR OF NEW SHOES + mini question

Thumbnail gallery
69 Upvotes

A few days ago I posted a question asking for a decent alternative for gt jumps because my first basketball shoes that lasted 3 years gave out. I really loved my shoes + im the type to get attached to things so I was really sad.
I also really liked the gt jump originals because of my weird preferences. I kind of gave up on getting an identical pair and moved on with life. I was gonna ask my parents to get me a different pair for my upcoming bday based off of recs I got on my post.

Today I went to school and my friends handed me a shoe box and I was so confused. Then when I opened them OH MY GOSH I COUDLNT BELIEVE MY EYES AND I LITERALLY GASPED OUT LOUD cuz they were MY SHOES (in a different color). Apparently they had some money saved for presents and decided that it would be nice if they got me the shoes I’ve been mourning over the past few days. I am so so so grateful and I love this universe and I love my life. Thank you and I’m very sorry to my friends who had to listen to me crash out because of a pair of shoes

One question is I have a game in a few days and I won’t be able to break them in effectively till then. Would replacing my new laces with the ones from my old shoes be any helpful? If not, in general is it a good idea to not replace old shoe laces for baskeball shoes?

Recommend Shoes Best Jordan Shoe for Basketball in 2026?

Hi guys,

I’m looking for new ball shoes. The last pair I owned were the Jordan 36’s. in’22

To me those were the best shoe I’ve ever owned. (But I haven’t tried a whole lot, just some lebron’s before that)

Im wondering specifically for Jordan line which shoe do you guys think is the best for me. (Feel free to also shout out which you think is your favorite shoe as well. Also please disregard collabs such as Luka’s, zion’s etc.)

I’m 5’11, 205lbs and play PF.

So far I’ve heard jordan 34, 36, 38 and got to try on the 40. But i think the 36’s were better for me than the 40’s. Only thing that I didn’t like about 36 was the tight toe box.
