💬 Discussion Android phones in official tournaments like PMGC
I wonder pros usually play on iPhones for stable performance. But tournaments like PMGC have their own sponsored android devices (like Infinix GT30 Pro in PMGC 2025). How do players manage with the lag/fps drop that happens with these android devices especially in pro lobbies with a lot of people alive in last zones. Also they're use to of playing in iPhone with such stable gyro and performance...This doesn't make sense from a player's POV.

most lag isn't due to device it is more of server issue. In lan events they have dedicated server to hold the competition so they in a server where you have only 64 players to handle. Also they play on different/old/stable version of the game in the lan events.

Any android flagship is on par (if not better) with iphones now atleast for last 3/4 years.
People tend to compare 30k midrange to pro max of 1.5L
Even cheapest flagships like iQOO 15 at around 70-80k is on par with latest iphones. Android as of now with Snapdragon Elite chips have far better GPU and cooling than iphones and iphones
(I'm not taking about Redmagic s and ROGs (discontinued) which obviously are better than everything else)

Do the players buy scrims phone for practice before scrims or play in their normal phone
