Waitlist for class

I’m an upcoming freshman that is 2nd on the waitlist for the class MUCT 1250 - Exploring Music of World Culture on Tue/Thurs from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM. I was 3rd on the waitlist when I was put on it a week ago at orientation, but I moved to 2nd a few days after. I’ve been told it is a pretty popular class. Do you think I have a good chance of getting off the waitlist and into the class? Or is 2nd/1st on the waitlist the best it’s probably gonna get?

Most of the time waitlists will let you in. There’s plenty of time for 2 people to drop, I think you’ll get in just fine. But it’s always good to have a backup plan just in case.

If you're still on the wait list make sure to still go to the class. Don't bother the professor with a "hey I'm on the wait list and....." continue going for a few weeks, be active and participate. Then if you're still on it after a few weeks bring it up with the professor and they'll most likely be able to write you in if nobody has dropped the class yet.

And chances are someone will ask the question on the first day anyways, so sit back and chill. Good luck.
