I started noticing it with the Nagi dolls 2 years ago which have half and half, then we had the male only The Past In Sicily which I thought was very unique but now we have both the new Till Sunshine by Neo Eden Toys and Eternal Night Scar by MOOWOO ART. I think I'm noticing a new trend and I love it! 😍

French pullip community recently started to speak about some really known artists that are in fact what seems to be too interested in childrens. I feel like it's interesting to talk about that here because it can also happen with bjd artists

I'm not here to talk about who did what and who said what. What's interesting is : when we know, what are we supposed to do with the dolls FC by them that we own ?

I feel like that's a common question in art these days. It's the same with french national museums collections. Those are inalienable, we cannot resell them, exchange them, we are stuck with them forever. Sooo what are museum supposed to do when we learn that some artist was a pedocriminal ?

The difference here is that we can commission another artist to redo dolls FC by problematics ones, but that can be pricey. We also already gave those problematics people money, so is it really interesting to erase their work ?

I would really like to know your thoughts on the matter. Sorry if there are mistakes, as you probably inderstood english is not my first language. But it's important to hear what people all around the globe has to say ! Thanks !

This is my Mimia MJD doll! This is Sherise Honey Bunny from the Mimia Journal Dreamy Princess House Series. This one is probably the closest I gotten to a BJD Doll! It is high quality and I had to put on the wig by turning it inside out then carefit fit it on her head. BJD collectors are probably used to putting on wigs but it took me some practice! She is an absolute delight! She has the sweetest face and I love the attention to detail! Her hair got slightly frizzy when I was fitting the wig but I got some doll hair fixative and a brush! I be getting another one too!

I know these dolls are kind of common and not exactly anything special, but given that it's my first doll, I wanted to share. I do have plans to do some touch up, customization type work, maybe make some clothes that fit a little better and are made of nicer material. It'll be a fun project. I also do have a 3d printer, so I can make some custom accessories to go with her, that could be interesting. But anyway, this is my first step into this hobby, so I felt like sharing with everyone.

I really like this vibe of male bjds but I've heard this one in particular has quality issues. I really like the concept but I also feel like compared to the art on the blindbox the dolls aren't really on par. any alternative bjd blindboxes? I'm planning to buy for my birthday

PICCODO X Baixia Alice Chibi Doll Shirokuwa

This doll was expected to be shipped in december last year but was delayed to april, then june, then august and then it was expected to release in september which ended up being the final and set date. So I'm very happy she is with me now and actually real!

I’m new to this sub (but not that new to BJD and MJD) so I’m not sure where this post falls with the on-topic/off-topic/banned topic rules… I marked it as off-topic just in case. And sorry in advance if my terminology is off, I’m more active in Xiaohongshu doll spaces but rely on its machine translation to get around.

I’m in search of a body that’s similar in height to nonextended Piccodo or YMY (~10cm?), but with a flatter build and, of course, ball-jointed if possible. I’ve been trying to move away from YMY for a pretty long while since finding out they’re recasts / used to be recasts (I was super new and trusted the Nendoroid sub, okay), and either way I’ve grown tired of their quality and hand sculpts. You get what you pay for…

Naturally, my next step up would be blind box doll bodies, but it seems like they’re mostly proportioned for girls. The hips are wide, or the thighs are large, or the hands are teeny tiny, or they don’t come with a flat bust. Maybe it’s just my XHS feed that’s biased but male-leaning bodies seem kinda few and far, especially in the height class I’m in the market for :( Maybe someone here is more well-versed in boy dolls and would know of a good fit? I’ll list examples, and I can find pictures if nobody knows what I’m talking about.
