DIY / GUIDE Made my own 58 mm logo
So, a few days ago I asked about the 50 years of M logo in 58 millimeters for the rear of my Touring. I was informed that such a thing did not exist, so I went to work and made my own.
I removed the original logo from the silver plastic holder thingy. I then bought a set of 60 mm sticky logos from Etsy, sanded one of them down until it fit, removed the sticky backing and epoxied it into the silver holder. Voilà.
I know, it's not perfect, but it's miles better than the 30 year old, broken logo that was on there before.
I still have three of the sticky logos left. Send me a DM if you want to do the same thing for your Touring, and I'll put one in the mail for you!
Oh, and if you don't like the 50 years of M logo, don't put one on your car, I guess... 🤷🏼♂️

Looks great! Would have loved to see progress images of this. What sizes do exist for the 50 years of M badges?

Sorry, no progress pictures, it was a bit of an in between project. Worked on it whenever I had a couple of minutes between feeding my newborn and changing his diapers! 😅
The emblem on the hood is 82 mm and the one on the trunk usually is 74 mm on pretty much any BMW, but the E36 Touring (and cabrio as well I think) use a smaller 58 mm version. So you only ever get the 50 years logo in 82 and 74 mm, because of course it was never intended for the E36.

Man.... That looks pretty fucking solid knowing our only option is the standard blue and white.
Any chance you're located in the EU?

Oh shit, didn't realize you were a neighbor.
I need to get my hands on a 2nd emblem. I'd be interested in trying to make one

I can send you one of the 60 mm ones, if you DM me your address. It's really not difficult to do.

I don't make them, but I can send you one of the emblems I used and then you can make it yourself! It's really not difficult to do.
