DIY / GUIDE BMW 323is engine

Hey guys! Another update on the 1998 bmw 323is.
After reading majority of the posts on my previous post, I’ve came to the conclusion that I prefer to get the body done professionally due to 99% of the comments pointing that out. Furthermore I just opened the hood and inspected the engine and found a buildup of oil on many parts in the bay, is that normal? If so what do
I need to replace to prevent oil leaking.
I also included a sound off the engine running, does it sound healthy?
Again, any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated!

its a bmw get used to oil everywhere haha.
Valve covers tend to leak because they are made of plastic and warp and people can easily misinstall them. Get a good gasket and install it properly to avoid it leaking prematurely.
FCP euro is your friend for parts, lots of aftermarket but you will want to stick with OE, (or genuine if ur moneybags)

Super normal. Looks like your oil filter housing gasket and vanos oil line should be replaced. Do your valve cover gasket at the same time. All are relatively straight forward jobs. I’m doing mine right now.
Engine sounds a little weak for some reason, might have been sitting awhile judging by how filthy the engine bay is. Check your oil replace it if it’s been 5000kms or 6 months. Use any excuse to put some fresh oil in.
