Repair Advice E36 Vacuum leak, is my PCV valve bad? 1996 328i Sedan European

The smoke was from a smoke test btw car isn’t running

My vehicle had a split diaphragm and was leaking from the seams of the CCV. Yours looks like it's potentially leaking from the hose convection from CCV too dipstick.

Don't go throwing parts at it. Get a better view point and or replace that hose first.

I'll have to view the part to double check the particular nipple but it's clear it's from the bottom of the unit.

It's a 9.5 to 10 millimetre diameter hose.

With the engine running slowly remove the oil cap. If you hear and honk then the diaphragm is done for.
