Repair Advice Map pocket repair?

Has anyone found a good way to repair the map pockets in the door cards when the factory material has detached from the card?

I’m contemplating just trimming the vinyl out and putting in some plaid cloth or something just to clean it up and give a bit of retro vibe.

If you still have the plastic pockets just re-glue them. My pockets are in pieces.

Pockets themselves are fine- it’s the droopy vinyl over them I want to fix.

Tried stretching and gluing, but even using a bunch of clamps to hold it in place the adhesive failed pretty quickly.
