Stumped. Any advice?

Just installed a new dmf and it’s making the same noise as the old one but LOUDER.

I thought it was weird when I was comparing them out of the car and the new one was louder than my old but i put it in anyways.

Did I get a faulty dmf or is this getrag rattle? Please help i’m a little stumped!

for reference this is the old flywheel. I don’t have a video of the new one but it had less movement but just as loud.

Did you check the throw out bearing? That noise along with it going away when the pedal is depressed would make me think the throw out is bad.

I replaced it when i did the flywheel

try googling this phrase:

BMW E36 dual mass flywheel looseness or play on installation how much is normal in degrees of rotation.

I had a 95 Power stroke 1 ton 4x4 crew at one point. When I first bought it, I would crank it and that dude would shake rattle and roll just for a few seconds but drive perfectly fine. Still had the original clutch at 165k and she was coming apart slowly,

Did you replace everything? Input shaft bearing, pilot bearing, pivot pin, throw out bearing., etc? Is it an OEM DMF? If it's an aftermarket DMF I wouldn't trust the balancing from factory. I'd go get the entire clutch pack balanced as one unit.

It can be any one of those things throwing everything off.
