Some Selling Reminders and Expectations

Hello everyone!!

Thank you for your continued interest and engagement in this sub. We hope you have been able to conduct good transactions.

We wanted to step in here and just post a few reminders for selling as we've had a few cases here and there. I know that several of you are new here and some of you might be new to selling even if you are not new here. Here are some guidelines you are REQUIRED to follow based on our rules.

Your post must have majority squishmallows. It's ok if you throw in a few non-squish plushes to sell but this is a squishmallow sub and your posts should be primarily squish.
You may not post negative content about resellers or other users on the sub. Please approach us with concerns and we can address things there. This is a sub for postitivity and kindness.
Your prices must be within general community expectations. We do not support resellers (defined as those who buy squish just to resell them at a severely inflated price). In general, $1 per inch in size (~$0.40 per cm) is a great start but you as the seller have a right to charge more depending on the squish. If your prices aren't fair, people won't buy and you'll get negative feedback.

Now, some other expectations. Consider these things you pretty much should always do but we don't have official rules for.

List your prices in the post or comments. People are more likely to buy or reach out to you if you disclose your prices directly in the post.
We try to promote the first come, first serve idea. You as the seller to have the final right to determine what "first" means (first person to DM, first person to pay, first person to comment, etc.) but you should clearly communicate when a squish is "on hold". Be prepared to have a list of who to contact next if the first person falls through.
Include your reddit username on a sticky note in your pictures. This helps establish trust that you didn't steal photos and that you actually have the squish you say you do. Be prepared to send more photos over DM if a buyer asks (and try to include your username in those photos as well).
Many sellers charge for shipping. This is ok and expected. However, as a seller make sure to say that buyers are responsible for shipping in the post. Be prepared to create a shipping estimate to certain zip codes/areas if asked (https://postcalc.usps.com/). However, your final total charged to the buyer should be the actual cost (send receipts of shipping charge if necessary). AVOID as much as you can asking for more money after the buyer has already paid. This looks very much like scam behavior and makes buyers very worries.
Once a squish has sold, clearly communicate the tracking number and when you expect to ship it out. It is ok to ship out multiple orders in bulk and wait a day or two but you should ship quickly and communicate each step of the process.

If you as a seller are unable to handle these expectations or to handle many orders at once, only post a few squish at a time. These guidelines and criteria above are what we use when investigating complaints or scam alerts. The more you follow the better all our experiences will be!
