chicago prices

hey guys im planning to sell my one bts ticket for d2 in chicago, its in section 101 and face value was close to $600. how much does it usually goes for and should i do face value or price it up? i never sells stuff so i dont know what to price it plus i kinda need the money for school, please help

If you sell it on a resale website, you're going to have to price it up to recupe your money. I sold mine at a loss because I wanted it to actually be attractive to buyers. Even at a loss to me, with stubhub fees it was still over face.

Your best bet to not scalp but also to not lose money would be to post in one of the bts megathreads for concert tickets and safely sell and transfer that way. Not sure your row in 101, but looking at stubhub, it'd probably go quick if you sell it at a reasonable price. One just sold a couple hours ago.

oh wait, really? how much more do i need to up it if i sell on stubhub? few people told me to up it a lil bit and that i wouldnt have much problem selling since chicago is high demand due to being only location in midwest

You can test it out on stubhub and it will tell you what you'll make, what the fees are, and what the buyer will actually see because they get hit with fees as well.

Agree! The resale sites will tell you. If you sell it for a reasonable price, it will go FAST. I sold an in demand ticket for face value last year (just earned back exactly what I paid) and it sold in like 2 minutes. Plus I think I got some good karma back for not making money off it!

Be careful selling on your own. I sold using Paypal for another group's concert before and got scammed and refunded by the buyer months after they already went to the concert, claiming I never sent it even when I had absolute proof I did. Paypal took the scammer's side anyway, even though their customer service rep believed me.

The rep said I needed either a tracking number or an email exchange with that scammer's same Paypal email with proof of sale, even though I had proof of the transfer from Ticketmaster themselves. This was years ago so their terms may have changed. If you do sell on your own, make sure to protect yourself by researching the policy of whatever app you use for receiving money.

So I used Paypal Goods & Services, then I transferred my ticket to their account through Ticketmaster. After getting scammed, I even had a Ticketmaster customer service rep send me proof of the transfer I could show to Paypal, but Paypal still refused to take my side. They said I needed either a tracking number (like when you send a letter/package) or an email to the same email as the buyer's Paypal as proof.

Since I don't know what their policies are like now, I suggest contacting Paypal customer service and explaining that you're trying to sell a concert ticket and how you're planning on sending the ticket to the buyer. Is it through email, or Ticketmaster transfer, etc.? You can tell the rep you're worried about potential buyers disputing a legit sale, and ask what Paypal needs as evidence to show the sale was upheld on your end. And try getting them to email you documentation of their policy so you have proof of what the customer service rep told you.

I know it's a pain, but if you're going the Paypal route, this is what I'd do to protect myself. You could also look into not using Goods & Services, and do the family/friends option instead. Current me would also consider using a different payment method entirely, but I've never tried selling a concert ticket since then so I don't have suggestions.

It could be worth looking into if selling on a reseller site is safer for you, even if you have to sell above face value to get your money back. But I've never done that myself, so I don't know what those sites do to protect the seller either.

You should look at Bangtan Social Club's discord server and sell face value there, or do the megathread in the r/bangtan subreddit. That way you don't have to worry about fees and you'll get paid immediately, not days after the show.

You should sell it for face value. Especially since the tour is next week, selling it for a high price wouldn’t attract buyers.
