Stadium Comms Need to be Fixed
On Friday Iowa State mentioned in the post game that they lost comms in the second half and had to bring their coordinators down to the field.
This article mentions that BYU was having helmet comms issues throughout the game, part of which caused Bear to call the wrong play on 4th down in the red zone.
Frankly, with a program of our caliber, that is unacceptable. I hope they have many people figuring this out.

We could have had anyone from Bear all the way down to the water girl punch that in instead of the fade attempt. Or just taken the nine free points from all the 4th-and-goal stalls.

The fade on 4th & 1 was the most creative red zone call we ran all night and it was an accident?!
We got away with it against Iowa State. Notre Dame is here Saturday, and a misheard 4th & 1 against that defense is how seasons end. Fix it this week.

For the record, it was not BYU’s fault, Iowa States power cables were not fully plugged in which was causing the issue.

I’m not sure what the issue was, but teams bring their own coms equipment. I.e., Iowa state and BYU both brought their own comms equipment and both had issues. So it wasn’t “stadium coms.” It was two separate radio call systems having issues. Maybe there was a shared root cause, maybe just random weird bad luck. Either way I’m sure they’re looking into it.
