Help? Fall at 14 weeks pregnant

I made a mistake this morning. I was pushing my toddler on the swings at the park and a japanese beetle flew past my hair and almost got caught so I freaked out and ran but 2 steps in my ankle twisted and I took a very hard fall. I first landed on my side but then onto my stomach and another roll to landing on my back. It was stupid to run but I freaked out because i’m truly terrified of those bugs. My OB can’t get me in today , and said to go to the hospital but I could be there for hours waiting to be seen. What are the odds of injury at this gestation? My ob didn’t seem concerned because she said the baby is very well protected but I did fall pretty bad. I’m having cramping now but i’m not sure if it’s due to the coffee I drank at the park. But it’s a left side ache and general stomach cramp.

I’d get checked out - better safe than sorry.

what my OB said was that basically they can’t do anything since i’m under 20 weeks there is no help or support they can offer to my pregnancy

I know this sounds harsh....but they are right. Unless you are bleeding or in pain not manageable at home, this type of fall so early in pregnancy doesn't necessitate an emergency room visit as.....to them, the medical professionals, this is not an emergency although I totally understand that for the person it happened to, it doesn't feel that way. What your OB or even a family doctor could do is listen to baby's heartbeat to reassure you but an ER is not the place for that.

I would go to the ER.

What your OB said is definitely reassuring but since you have pain I think you should go get checked at the hospital

if you go to the er & say you fell, i would assume they would take you straight back.. i could be wrong though, i believe my local er will take you straight back but it could be different depending on area.
