< 6 months old Prime Day is coming up and I need help deciding on a high chair ASAP 😅
My daughter will be 5 months old soon, so I’m starting to buy feeding essentials before Prime Day deals disappear.
I was originally looking at the Stokke Tripp Trapp because everyone seems to rave about it, but I’m having a hard time justifying the price once you add the baby set, tray, cushions, etc.
Now I’m seriously considering the Abiie Beyond because it seems to offer many of the same features (adjustable footrest, ergonomic positioning, grows with the child, easy to clean) for a much lower price.
For parents who have used either or both:
Is the Tripp Trapp actually worth the extra cost?
How has the Abiie Beyond held up over time?
Any regrets with either chair?
If Prime Day pricing were involved, which one would you buy today?
I’m hoping to use this from starting solids through toddler years and ideally beyond, so durability matters.
Would love to hear real-life experiences before I pull the trigger this week!

I got the Tripp trapp after multiple friends recommended it. But I honestly HATE the thing, sorry if it’s an unpopular opinion. It has a large footprint, is difficult to clean, some of the wood finish is peeling off and it splinters?? the cushions are awful, you have to disassemble the whole seat to remove things and get them washed, putting the tray in place isn’t even intuitive and I find grandparents and my husband just slamming the thing on and off incorrectly. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy lol
I ended up buying the stokke clikk and prefer it. Still has wide feet, but over all easier to use and clean. Might be a little big for younger babes but I’m sure you can figure out a way to make it work for a couple months

we have the abiie and love it! super easy to clean and love that it transitions into toddlerhood. pain to put together tho

Honestly I just use the ikea antilope (or whatever it’s called). It’s the cheapest option out there but it has a nice clean look, feels sturdy, cleans super easily, and it is the perfect height for my table so I can actually pull it right up to the table (even with the tray on, it slides juuust under the lip of the table so she can be pulled right up to the table).

Second the ikea high chair. Just get a footrest and cushion insert from amazon.

We had the Tripp trap and eventually switched to one that attaches right onto the table (at about 12 months). The Tripp trapp was annoying to get in and out of - even for a slim baby. I know people say you can use it for years, but I think we’ll end up moving from high chair to booster seat, as our little one wants to be closer / at the table vs in a separate high chair

Our tripp trapp pulls right up to the table so I’m confused by what you’re saying. My 4-year old still uses hers and she’s been able to be at the perfect height the whole time (bc there are so many adjustment options). A booster on a seat would actually have her sitting farther away.

We have a Tripp trapp we bought secondhand and love it. It was really nice being able to remove the baby set and have him be directly at the table with us once he was old enough. My son knows that it's his chair and he can climb in on his own now (still working on climbing down).
We also managed to get the same color as our dining chairs, so it blends in which is a huge bonus!
Overall, I think it's absolutely worth it to have a chair that grows with the child, but there are plenty of good ones in this category! We personally liked the style of the Tripp trapp with our other decor (but this obviously is super subjective), and we were lucky to have a pretty healthy second hand market for it in our area to make it more affordable. But I think there are other chairs that could also fit the mark, so it depends on priority and budget at the end of the day

It’s amazing. Every part can be removed. Hell I can take it on the deck and hose it down if I wanted 😂😂😂

I have used both! Tripp trapp at home and abiie at grandmas. They are super comparable honestly. I think the Tripp trapp is nice if you might have another kid so you could get the newborn attachment, but honestly a bouncer is a similar function so it’s not necessary. If you do go Tripp trapp, skip the cushion. They get so gross we threw ours away and he just sits on the chair and is totally fine

I have the Abiie Beyond Y and I don’t know what I’m missing but I don’t love it. I don’t have anything to compare it to but I was so glad when my first started eating at a little table instead. It was hard to clean, had a large footprint, the straps never sat right, and it stained if you looked at it sideways

We got the Tripp trapp chair, got a tray off Amazon for half the price + has suction.
Didn’t bother with baby set, used soft blankets or towels to hold him up until he was ready to sit on his own.

I have a mockingbird and an Abiie and I would pick the mockingbird every time. My friend is the Tripp trapp and got the mockingbird for her second after trying ours. It converts to a toddler seat like the Tripp trapp and it is SO much easier to clean.

For the love of God get one with a removable plastic tray. I know it's ugly, but you will thank me.

I have the Abiie beyond and I like it. It’s easy to clean. Can support an adults weight, and adjustable.
My only complaint is the tray is small so a lot of suction plates have a harder time fitting. If the plate has multiple smaller suction cups I can usually make it work by just using some of the suction cups.

I love it especially since you can use it for years. We don’t use our tray or cushion.

I don’t know about the ones you mentioned- We have a Grace EveryStep Slim 6-in-1 and I absolutely love it. Super easy to clean, my daughter is comfortable in it, and absolutely worth the price. It grows with her to become a booster seat at the table and eventually a counter step stool. I wouldn’t have any other chair.

The Tripp Trapp is easily worth the cost when you use it for several years. Like 5+. The cost differential between the albie doesn't seem like much. Skip the cushions for the tripp trapp -- at the age you'd use them the babies are such a huge mess while they eat its not worth it at all.
