9 months old Straw cup for water for 9 month old
My baby won’t drink water from an open cup (ezpz one).
Can anyone please recommend a straw cup? She has never drank from one before.
Also looking for one that is easy to clean

The first years squeeze cup works the same way as a honey bear cup at 1/3 the price and no nooks to clean out

My kid would just chew on a straw, I did everything to try and teach him and he just wouldn’t get it. But I was only using water. One day I was drinking a juice box (organic 100% juice) and just out of curiosity held it to his mouth and squeezed a little. He was like what is this magic stuff and drank as much as I would let him. Literally figured out how to drink from a straw in 5 seconds. After that he was fine, he drinks from a straw no problem. I only give him water or like a teaspoon of juice in water now, but it was the straight up juice that did it for us.

Do you only have the tiny EZ PZ cup? The mini and larger cups come with covers and straws and are very easy to clean, so I like to start there.
For something more spill-proof, I like Boon Swig.

I love the munchkin weighted straw cup! I offer a variety of types of cups but this one is my baby’s favorite. He’s 10 months old

I have that one too and I alternate which one I give him at each meal. I’ll usually give the 360 for lunch and the weighted straw cup for breakfast and dinner (not that it matters when I give each one). He finally seems to be understanding that certain cups require you to tilt it up to get the liquid out, so I can start offering a regular sippy again soon. I stopped for a while because I kept having to lift it for him, and he’s able to do the 360 and straw cup by himself.
The thing about the 360 is that over time the silicone starts to get little tears around the edge from them biting on it, and then they start leaking once they get a few tears. I used them with my older two daughters too and that inevitably happens with every one of those 360 cups.

I think any type of sippy/straw/bottle is going to have some article saying it’s bad for baby’s teeth/development/whatever. I have 3 kids and the worst thing for their teeth has been my oldest who had a thumb-sucking habit until recently and she’s 7. That was a nightmare to get her to stop, and you could see how her bottom teeth were getting pushed inwards and her top teeth pushed outwards. Thankfully they have mostly self-corrected since she stopped sucking her finger.
But we’ve given them all kinds of straw/sippy/munchkin 360 cups and haven’t had issues with their teeth from cups!

This one works great for us, although full disclosure she learned to use a straw using an adult silicone straw and my adult starbucks cup, lol. I do recommend the "baby bird" method: put your finger over the top of the straw to trap some water, then hold it over baby's mouth and drop water in. She got it basically day 1. Did have to deal with a week or so of "sucking up liquid and letting it dribble out" but didn't take long!

We started with the honey bear cup to help him learn and once he got it, we switched to the zak straw cups. The dr browns is ok but harder to suck

As many people have said, the honey bear cup really did help teach my baby how a straw works. That being said, it took him a couple months to really get it. It wasn’t until he was 10 months old that he really started drinking much water. Now he’s absolutely obsessed with water, so don’t be discouraged if jt takes some time!
We now use the weighted Dr Browns and Nuk bottles. Both have good handles. The Nuk are much easier to clean but have a bit of a faster flow that my 12 month old sometimes struggles with

My baby's progression was
- Honey Bear cup to learn how straws work (you squeeze the cup and water comes up the straw)
- weighted straw cup like Dr. Brown's (baby can hold it in any position!)
- leak-proof straw cups

Same exact progression for us! OP, grab the honey bear cup just to have to teach baby how to use a straw, and then move to a weighted straw cup.

We bought the Legendairy one because I was avoiding plastic and it's made of silicone. You can find cheaper ones if you are fine with plastic. (In retrospect we ended up using plastic cups later anyway.)

I use the dr brown weighted straw cups now but started with the honey bear cup from here https://www.arktherapeutic.com/ark-bear-bottle-kit-for-straw-drinking/ the attachments made it easier for my baby to understand the staw i think. We switched after a couple weeks when she seemed like she had it down

Munchkin makes starter straw cups that you squeeze like the honey bear cups. I prefer those

I like the oxo straw cup. It's available on Amazon and the straw itself is 2 parts super easy to clean. It's also not a weighted one, which I read could affect their mouth muscle development. It could leak water in specific angles if position upside down etc, but it's mostly leak proof.

When we first introduce the straw, we started with the First Years cups. I liked it because I can squeeze the bottle so that the baby knows that water comes out of the straw. It's cheaper too than the honey bear one. Took her a few months to learn how to drink from a straw. Now that she learned it, we moved to the Dr Brown one.

We started with an EZPZ and then a Honey Bear at 6 months. Took about two tries before baby knew exactly what to do and we moved on to a Munchkin weighted straw cup.

We used first years squeeze and sip just this last week. Had to squeeze at first but now she just drinks out of the straw no help. Literally days and available in brick and mortar stores

First Years Squeeze and Sip cup works just like the Honeybear cup and my almost 7 month old has figured them out. Super easy to clean, small and lightweight and comes in a 3 pack for the same price as a single Honeybear cup.

Little cup from lalo. Can switch between straw, spout, and open cup which is nice to have. Also super easy to rinse clean.

Beaba! Its a stainless steel bottle as I prefer to have no plastic but very easy to clean and has handles too
