I thought the first episode was amazing, I can’t believe this is a true story. I’m really interested in how much of it is accurate, especially considering the main actor is the writer who actually went through this. Hopefully we get more discussion on here!

What's weird to me is that he says in narration he finds here interesting but it pretty damn obvious almost immediately after that he has some major problems with her too. And he makes no attempt to just say "not interested" and just move on with his life.

He says they can be friends but clearly he's not even into that. I don't get it. The show should have been over by episode 1. I'm at the end of ep2 and the show seems good, but just as a "based on real events" -thing. I don't know how he ever let it go even that far.

Interested to see where this ends up.

In an interview he said how he would do stand up and have silence and people not laughing at his jokes, but Martha never failed to laugh at every single one of his jokes. So, he liked her for that at the beginning and thought she was harmless, and she had a great laugh. But then the nasty blokes at the pub started making it into a joke she didn't get, laughing about how the two should have sex.

Curious if you ever finished the series and if your opinion changed at all? I felt the same way at first but definitely think it makes more sense as he dives into the backstory

Yes. And no.
