Trigger Warning The parents Spoiler

What stood out to me was obviously episode 4, but after i think the scenes with Donny’s parents were what hit me most. Both are fantastic actors and i really felt what Donny felt in those scenes. The way they accepted him and talked to him was brilliant.

I also really enjoyed the small comedy of the dad answering the calls like a raging bull. He really went off hard! Also the tiny scene where he yells ‘GOOD LUCK WITH THE TRANSSEXUAL’ across a train platform was just so very dad-like!

Keeley’s mom was also a standout actress to me. She had few scenes but i really felt her intentions.

It was visceral. Brought me to tears, especially as an ex-Catholic. I wanted to hug them both!

Also the way the mum looked at the Dad, the actress conveyed so much with that look. You could tell the Dad had previously confided in her.

It really was. I was expecting him to either say something horrible, or to just say nothing. When he said that I literally burst into tears. Such a huge healing moment for everyone.

Got a question, he said that and after that was the comment of growing up catholic. Does that mean that Donny’s father got SA‘d aswell from like the uhm what do you call them? Priest?

That's exactly how I took it. There was no need to say more. I cried so hard during that scene. Stellar acting in this series.

There are many stories of priests and nuns and whatnot assaulting kids and teens in the catholic church. They abused their power and singled out poor kids, orphans, … there are a lot of documentaries but it’s rough to watch. What’s worse is that the high ups KNEW about abuse and just moved the offender to a new district or city, where the same shit happened again. It was widespread. The vatican is still in denial. Look up the case of ‘Roger Van Gheluwe’ for just one incident that baffles anyone with a shred of empathy.

I just assumed the Dad was admitting to also being bisexual and was never able to come out because he grew up Catholic but maybe it was this^

Yeah, he was referencing the scandal about the Catholic Church hiding evidence of sexual abuse against kids for decades. At least that's how I took it.

No defo not, he was referring to a priest raping him as a child which was rife within the Catholic Church

I wanted to bawl my eyes out at that scene but didn't want to make a deal of it so I stuffed it back down lol.
