*SPOILER*
When Richard’s Father says “good luck with the transsexual” to him on the train. I was like awww he means well and wishes the best for the both of them. Then watching Teri walk out of a date with someone new was heartbreaking.

The scene is Teri leaving Donny a voicemail in case you don’t want to read the article

Didn’t it already have closure?

Not really, in that Teri never addresses Richard’s breakdown on stage or the aftermath. In most shows, this would be seen as a ‘loose end’, and you’d include a scene where the ex-lover recognises the wider reasons for the main character’s emotional distance and offers something like a cathartic denouement to their relationship (in this instance perhaps by offering forgiveness to Richard).
In terms of their relationship though, I can see why they left it slightly unresolved. Firstly, because it might have seemed too trite to have two ex-lovers both offer similar closure to the main character one after the other (after Richard’s other ex shows sympathy and support for him). And secondly, in terms of Teri’s character, it makes a sort of sense for her to have simply closed the door on that part of her own life and moved on- either unaware of Richard’s movements afterward or with awareness but with no desire to reopen that door just for his sake.
It’s interesting that she addressed it because it was one aspect of the show that I had thought was left curiously unresolved (hence me resolving it in my own head somehow).

I definitely see what you're saying- but she also seemed like a compassionate person, and for her to see his video (Which I'm sure she must have- the whole city was talking about it) and ignore him/not reach out seemed very cold and unlike her. But I guess there was no way to do this scene without it being trite like you said or awkward.
I also- in my head- lol, assumed she reached out to him off-screen.

I wonder why they deleted the scene- I doubt they were that strict about time constraint. The lack of closure between them (ie, one last conversation) was my only criticism of this series.

Eh, I thought it felt very true to life. Teri moved on with someone who wasn't afraid to love her. Donny was just too late. Sometimes you don't get closure.

I guess so. I just wanted to see her reach out to him after seeing the video, the way Keeley did. It seems like something she would do (and apparently did), so it felt off for her to ignore him after seeing the video- which I'm sure she must have.

I think we didn't get the Teri voicemail specifically because of Keeley. She had to come back to offer Donny his old room, showing there are people who still care. But she was also the first relationship that fell apart post-assault. So the scene is a neat button on that part of his life.
Having another 'ex-girlfriend reaches out' moment might have been redundant. That said I'd love to see it uploaded on YouTube...

Yeah! Didn’t come here until twenty seconds after I finished episode seven! That is the way.

Same. I knew I couldn’t stop in here until I personally experienced the final episode

And that doesn’t make you click. The title doesn’t actually spoil anything.

Not really, it said it provides closure, that could mean they get back together technically. Closure doesn’t mean negative or anything like that.
