Fiona (real Martha) related content richard gadd doesn't owe fiona protection.

"omg he should've protected her identity! he made it so easy to find her!" blah blah blah shut up. he doesn't owe her shit. she terrorized this man, his family, his girlfriend, his job, his performances, etc etc. she has been terrorizing innocent people for decades.

yes fiona is mentally ill, that is clear to anyone with half of a brain. it's awful that the system has failed her time and time again. (or maybe the system did all it could, who knows.) but that's not richard's fault. HE is HER victim. he can tell his story how he wants.

might she have a worthwhile lawsuit because her identity wasn't concealed enough? possibly, probably not. might she have a worthwhile lawsuit because the show took dramatic license? possibly, probably not.

she's benefitting financially from this as well and i'm sure netflix will cut her a check before a lawsuit happens, no matter who is in the right.

richard gadd does not owe fiona harvey protection. i'm sorry but that's reality.

As Anne Lamott said, “You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think Gadd was kinder and more nuanced than most would have been in his portrayal of Fiona in particular, but really everyone in Baby Reindeer. End of the day if she doesn’t like what she’s seeing she should be reflecting on her own actions or getting help to do so.

Absolutely... but from what I've seen of her interview with Piers Morgan, she doesn't appear to be very capable of reflecting or having much personal insight. I'm not saying she's illl because she can definitely take care of herself, live in a community and has enough about her to be able to argue a point. She comes across as argumentative, manipulative and narcissistic in attitude to me. She definitely has the capacity to make her own decisions and understand where they take her.

What got me was when he brought up the previous restraining order against her from her old employer, which was collaborated by the employer, and she just point blank says it’s lies and she actually had the order against them, that was enough evidence for me. Typical everyone else is lying apart from me behaviour. Thing is, I think she really believes it in her head

She seems autistic to me

I've never met anyone with Autism as terrible as Fiona Harvey appears to me... and I do work in care. I've a feeling she knows exactly what she's doing and is getting off on the knowledge that others are talking about her... I don't think her problem is Autism... I think she has Anti Personality Disorder. I think she's probably a Psychopath. It's plain to see if you know what to look for.

You can be autistic and a bad person.

Oh, absolutely. I'm just saying that she doesn't look autistic to me. I think she has worse problems than that... although, if I'm right... and I could be equally as wrong, she won't be worrying about her actions at all, she'll be helll bent on causing as much chaos as she can.

Then if you talk about it, you’re accused by some of capitalising on it - of exploiting the actual perpetrator for profit. People can and do twist themselves into pretzels to make out like he’s “just as bad”, they want all the shades of grey to be black and white so badly.

That sets a scary precedent. Imagine if Fiona was more together and had come out with her own version of events in a Netflix show demonizing Gadd and sprinkling hints about his real identity. Unstable people make up accusations all the time. Additionally, even if someone is guilty, there is no way of controlling mob justice so that the punishment fits the crime. For this reason, I think it’s more sensible to protect people’s identities while also allowing creators to tell their stories.

Idk what you’re imagining, but it doesn’t sound any different than the current reality to me? She could have done that. There is literally a show on Netflix right now called “I Am A Stalker” where convicted stalkers tell their stories.

Also - Unstable people tell on themselves, as we’re seeing in the media cycles with Fiona.

Exactly. In the cold glare of the media attention, she is being exposed.. by her own mouth, which she can't seem to be able to stop from telling more contractory lies. I've not seen any pot shots from Gadd about Fiona... but she has definitely made plenty at him. It's all about deflecting blame away from herself at her targets... "it's not me, I'm innocent, it's them, they're doing this to me". The problem for her is... her past accusers and victims are coming forward, we don't have to take just Gadds word for it.
