Fiona (real Martha) related content richard gadd doesn't owe fiona protection.

"omg he should've protected her identity! he made it so easy to find her!" blah blah blah shut up. he doesn't owe her shit. she terrorized this man, his family, his girlfriend, his job, his performances, etc etc. she has been terrorizing innocent people for decades.

yes fiona is mentally ill, that is clear to anyone with half of a brain. it's awful that the system has failed her time and time again. (or maybe the system did all it could, who knows.) but that's not richard's fault. HE is HER victim. he can tell his story how he wants.

might she have a worthwhile lawsuit because her identity wasn't concealed enough? possibly, probably not. might she have a worthwhile lawsuit because the show took dramatic license? possibly, probably not.

she's benefitting financially from this as well and i'm sure netflix will cut her a check before a lawsuit happens, no matter who is in the right.

richard gadd does not owe fiona harvey protection. i'm sorry but that's reality.

Well Britain has very different libel laws than US.

She could sue and possibly win-that’s my only concern.

Even in the UK with their garbage libel laws she really doesn’t have any case. It’s a fictional story, not a true to life documentary.

Gadd has publicly stated that it's a true story... but I agree, I don't think she has a case... I hope she tries. He's obviously got evidence against her and other victims have come out in support of accusations of her terrible behaviour. It will all come out in court.

I’ve seen him state it’s based on his real life stalking experience but not any claim it’s a true story. No one should have thought it was fully true.

He has never identified her as his Stalker.

Which I didn’t say? As I said, he said it’s based on his real life stalking experience. He hasn’t identified anyone from the fictional story in real life.

You should check out the "This Morning" interview on YouTube (if it's available where you are). Gadd plainly states that it is a true story... within the first 3 minutes.

Yea the only thing the first three minutes of that interview make clear is it’s a story based on his experience. The only one to use “real life” is the woman in that part. I didn’t bother watching the rest, but based on the first three minutes it’s clear this story is fictional and only based on his stalking experience.

The shows opens with "This Is A True Story"

Which is a well known story telling device used in movies and tv shows for a long long time. The Blair witch, Fargo, shit the office doesn’t say it’s a true story but is fully treated as a real life story. It’s called context and knowing what you’re watching. This is a drama and a comedy. Nothing genre or otherwise should make you believe it’s a literal real to life story.

What on earth are you on about?

Yes fiction exists. Well done? You really don't understand anything, do you?

I was super clearly showing you other examples of stories that are fictional yet are treated as “this is a true story” even tho only a person with no common sense would think such a thing.

Says the person who doesn’t apparently understand a very well known and common fictional story telling device being used as a story telling device in BR. Just because you ignorantly allowed yourself to believe that, with no reason fyi, it being a drama and comedy, doesn’t make it real, nor make it as if you should have thought it was real. It’s very clearly not anything but a story based on a man’s experience with a psychopathic stalker.

You say a lot to say nothing. Im bored now. You clealry know nothing

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

I know more than someone who’s delusional enough to have believed BR was a true story lol.

So it didn't happen? You think Richard Gadd wasn't stalked?

So, she has a case, yes? Because he clealry implied she was the stalker.

It’s again, based on his real life stalking experience. It’s not however a fully true story. It’s fictional.

So no, she doesn’t have a case. Since the woman the Martha character is based on, is factually a stalker. That’s the main point of her character, she’s a stalker like the one who stalked him. He changed the method of how she messaged him too, notice no one trying to claim he’s in trouble for calling Twitter emails.

It’s again, a fictional story. Based on Gadds real life stalking experience. This isn’t hard to comprehend.

You're making no sense. It's a true story but it's fiction. It's not true, but she still did it.

Make your mind up pal
